Setup and First Use

Unpacking:

Carefully remove all packaging materials and the coffee maker from the box. Retain packaging for future storage or transport if needed.

Initial Cleaning:

Before first use, it is recommended to run two or three brewing cycles with only water to clean the internal components. Do not insert a coffee capsule during this process.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with clean water (5-12 oz).
  2. Place a mug on the drip tray.
  3. Close the lid and ensure it is securely locked.
  4. Press the power button to start the brewing cycle.
  5. Discard the hot water. Repeat 2-3 times.

This process helps remove any manufacturing residues and prepares the machine for optimal performance.

Operating Instructions

Follow these simple steps to brew a perfect cup of coffee:

  1. Add Water: Open the top lid and pour fresh, cold water into the water reservoir. Ensure the water level is between 5 oz and 12 oz. Do not overfill.
  2. Place Capsule: Lift the handle to open the capsule chamber. Insert a K-Cup compatible coffee or tea capsule into the holder. Close the handle firmly until it clicks into place.
  3. Position Mug: Place your coffee mug (up to 5.7" tall) on the adjustable drip tray.
  4. Start Brewing: Press the power button. The light on the power button will flash during the heating process and remain solid once brewing begins. The machine will automatically shut off after brewing is complete.
  5. Enjoy: Your fresh cup of coffee is ready.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and descaling are essential to maintain the performance and longevity of your CHULUX Mini Coffee Maker.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Drip Tray: Remove and empty the drip tray after each use. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  • Capsule Holder: After the machine cools, remove the capsule holder and rinse it under running water.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Descaling (Monthly Recommended):

It is suggested to descale and clean the machine every 1 month, or more frequently if you notice slow coffee flow or mineral buildup. Descaling removes mineral deposits that can affect performance.

  1. Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix 1 part citric acid (or white vinegar) with 4 parts water. For example, 3 oz citric acid solution with 12 oz water.
  2. Fill Reservoir: Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir.
  3. Run Cycles: Place a large mug on the drip tray. Run several brewing cycles without a coffee capsule until the reservoir is empty.
  4. Rinse: After descaling, fill the reservoir with fresh, clean water and run 2-3 full brewing cycles to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.

Note: The built-in water filter helps enhance taste by removing water impurities, but descaling is still necessary to prevent mineral buildup.
