Setup and First Use

Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Wash the upper chamber, filter funnel, and water boiler with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly to remove any residue. Do not immerse the electrical base in water.
  3. Dry all parts completely before assembly.

First Brew (Seasoning the Pot)

To season your Moka pot and remove any metallic taste, perform a few initial brews with just water or a small amount of inexpensive coffee that will be discarded.

  1. Fill the water boiler with cold water up to the safety valve.
  2. Insert the filter funnel. Add a small amount of ground coffee (or leave empty for water-only seasoning).
  3. Screw the upper chamber firmly onto the base.
  4. Place the Moka pot onto the electric base and plug it in.
  5. Allow the coffee maker to complete a full brewing cycle.
  6. Discard the brewed liquid. Repeat this process 2-3 times.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. Unscrew the upper chamber from the water boiler.
  2. Fill the water boiler with cold water up to the safety valve. Do not overfill.
  3. Insert the filter funnel into the water boiler.
  4. Fill the filter funnel with ground coffee. Do not tamp the coffee. Level the coffee gently.
  5. Screw the upper chamber firmly onto the water boiler. Ensure a tight seal to prevent leaks.
  6. Place the assembled Moka pot onto the electric base.
  7. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
  8. Press the power button to start brewing immediately, or proceed to set the timer.

Setting the Timer

The Bialetti Easy Timer allows you to program your coffee to brew at a specific time.

  1. After preparing the Moka pot as described above, ensure it is placed on the electric base and plugged in.
  2. Press the 'TIMER' button. The display will show the current time setting.
