1. Setup
1.1 Package Contents
Verify that the following items are included in your package:
- ELECOM EX-G Left-Handed Wireless Trackball Mouse
- USB Receiver
- AA Battery
- Japanese Manual (English manual available online)

1.2 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the trackball mouse.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the provided AA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
1.3 USB Receiver Connection
- Remove the USB receiver from its storage slot on the underside of the mouse.
- Insert the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
- Turn on the trackball mouse using the power switch located on the underside.
- Your computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.

1.4 Software Installation (ELECOM Mouse Assistant)
For full customization of the programmable buttons and advanced features, install the ELECOM Mouse Assistant software.
- Visit the official ELECOM US website.
- Navigate to the 'Support' or 'Downloads' section and locate 'Mouse Assistant'.
- Download the appropriate version for your operating system (Windows or macOS).
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure to select English during installation if prompted.

2. Operation
2.1 Basic Functions
The ELECOM EX-G trackball mouse is designed for left-handed users, offering an ergonomic shape for comfortable use.

- Left/Right Click: Standard mouse button functions.
- Scroll Wheel: Scroll vertically through documents and web pages. The scroll wheel also offers tilt functionality for horizontal scrolling.
2.2 Programmable Buttons
The mouse features 6 physical buttons and tilt scroll functionality, providing a total of 8 customizable functions. These can be configured using the ELECOM Mouse Assistant software.

2.3 DPI Adjustment
The DPI (Dots Per Inch) button allows you to switch between two cursor speed settings: 750 DPI (Low) and 1500 DPI (High). This enables precise control for various tasks.

2.4 Software Customization
The ELECOM Mouse Assistant software provides extensive options for customizing button assignments, pointer speed, and other settings.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning the Trackball
Regular cleaning of the trackball and its bearings ensures smooth and accurate cursor movement.
- Turn off the trackball mouse.
- Locate the ball removal hole on the underside of the mouse.
- Gently push the trackball out through this hole.
- Wipe the trackball with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Clean the three artificial ruby ball bearings inside the trackball cavity with a cotton swab or a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris.
- Reinsert the trackball into the mouse.

4. Troubleshooting
4.1 Cursor Not Moving or Erratic
- Check Battery: Ensure the AA battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Check USB Receiver: Verify the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port. Try a different port.
- Clean Trackball: Dust or debris on the trackball or bearings can affect performance. Refer to Section 3.1 for cleaning instructions.
- Interference: Move the mouse closer to the USB receiver or away from other wireless devices that might cause interference.
4.2 Buttons Not Responding
- Software Check: If using custom button assignments, ensure the ELECOM Mouse Assistant software is running and configured correctly.
- Reinstall Software: If issues persist with custom functions, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Mouse Assistant software.
4.3 Mouse Assistant Software in Japanese
- During installation, ensure you select the English language option.
- If already installed, check the software settings for a language option. If not available, uninstall the software, restart your computer, and reinstall, carefully selecting English.
