3. Setup

3.1 Initial Placement

Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface to ensure accurate readings. Avoid placing it on soft or uneven surfaces.

3.2 Powering the Scale

Your scale can be powered in two ways:

  1. Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale and insert the 3 included AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. AC Adapter: Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet and connect the other end to the DC 5V port on the side of the scale.

Note: The USB cable is for power supply only and does not support data transfer.

3.3 Remove Cardboard Protector

Before first use, ensure you remove the cardboard protector located under the scale platform. This prevents inaccurate readings.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the Power button (Power button icon) to turn the scale on. The display will show "88888" and then settle at "0.0" when ready.
  • Press and hold the Power button to turn the scale off.

4.2 Changing Measuring Units

The scale supports multiple measuring units. Use the unit conversion button on the side of the scale to cycle through the available options:

  • Pounds/Ounces (lb/oz)
  • Ounces (oz)
  • Kilograms/Grams (kg/g)
  • Grams (g)

4.3 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to zero out the weight of a container, so you only measure the contents.

  1. Place an empty container on the scale platform.
  2. Press the Tare/Zero button (labeled "0.0"). The display will reset to "0.0".
  3. Add items to the container; the display will show only the weight of the added items.

4.4 Hold Function

The Hold function allows you to lock the displayed weight, which is useful for large or awkwardly shaped items that might obscure the display.

  • Place the item on the scale.
  • Once the weight stabilizes, press the Hold button (labeled "HOLD"). The displayed weight will be locked.
  • Press the Hold button again to release the locked weight.

4.5 Weighing Items

To weigh an item:

  1. Ensure the scale is on and displaying "0.0".
  2. Gently place the item on the center of the scale platform.
  3. Read the stable weight displayed on the LED screen.

4.6 Using the Pop-Up Lid/Support

The scale features a unique pop-up lid that can act as a support for larger or irregularly shaped items, preventing them from falling off the platform or obscuring the display.

  • Gently lift the top platform to reveal the integrated support.
  • Place your item against the raised support for stability while weighing.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scale surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
  • Storage: Store the scale in a cool, dry place. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is on a flat, stable surface. Remove any cardboard protectors. Recalibrate if necessary (refer to manufacturer's website for specific calibration instructions if not provided in manual).
  • Display Not Turning On: Check battery installation or AC adapter connection. Replace batteries if depleted.
  • Overload Indication: If the display shows an error message indicating overload, remove the item immediately to prevent damage to the scale.
