Installation

  1. Mounting: Secure the keypad to a wall using the provided mounting screws. Ensure the back box is properly seated and aligned.
  2. Power Connection: The keypad supports 12-24V AC/DC universal power. Connect the power supply (sold separately) to the designated power input terminals. The keypad automatically adjusts to the input voltage, eliminating the need for special programming or jumpers.
  3. Wiring: Connect the keypad to your access control system components, such as an electric strike or magnetic lock, following the specific wiring diagram provided in the full product manual. The keypad offers a single Form C relay output with a maximum rating of 1A at 30VDC.
  4. Egress Input: If an exit button or sensor is utilized to allow users to exit without entering a code, connect it to the delayed egress input (Normally Open, Ground).
  5. Tamper Output: For enhanced security monitoring, connect the tamper output (Normally Closed Dry Contact, 50mA at 24VDC) to your alarm system if desired.

Note: All programmed data is stored in non-volatile EEPROM memory, ensuring reliable retention even during power outages.

Programming and Setup

All programming functions are performed directly at the keypad. For detailed step-by-step instructions and specific code entry sequences, refer to the comprehensive programming section within the included physical instruction manual.

  • Master Code: Establish a secure master programming code for initial setup and any future modifications to the keypad's settings.
  • User Codes: Program up to 1,000 permanent user codes, each consisting of 4 to 8 digits, for regular access.
  • Guest Codes: Program up to 50 guest codes (4-8 digits) which can be configured for one-time use or for a limited duration (customizable from 1 to 99 hours).
  • Relay Activation Time: Configure the single Form C relay output to activate for a duration ranging from 1 to 99,999 seconds, depending on the application.
  • Time-Based Access: Utilize the built-in real-time clock to automatically disable access during specific periods, enhancing security.
  • Wrong-Code Lockout: Program the keypad to temporarily disable after a specified number of incorrect code entries, preventing brute-force access attempts.

Operation

To gain access through the controlled entry point, enter a valid user or guest code on the keypad. The keypad supports two modes for code entry checking:

  • Auto-Keypad: The access relay activates automatically once the complete and correct code is entered.
  • Manual-Keypad: The access relay activates only after the correct code is entered, followed by pressing the "#" key.

The delayed egress input allows authorized individuals to exit a protected area without needing to enter a code, providing convenient and quick departure.

Maintenance

  • Clean the keypad surface periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronics.
  • Regularly test all programmed user codes and guest codes to ensure they function correctly and that the access system responds as expected.
  • Periodically inspect all wiring connections for security and integrity to prevent intermittent operation or system failures.

Troubleshooting

Keypad not responding or no power:
Ensure the keypad is receiving the correct operating voltage (12-24V AC/DC). Check all power and ground wiring connections for proper installation and continuity. Verify the power supply is functioning.
Codes not granting access:
Confirm that the entered code is correct and active. Review the programming settings for user codes, guest codes, and any active lockout modes. Ensure the relay activation time is set appropriately for the connected device.
Backlight not illuminating:
The keypad features an "always-on backlit keypad." If the backlight is not functioning, verify the power supply and consult the full manual for potential diagnostic steps. If the issue persists, contact technical support.
Unexpected beeping or sounds:
The keypad may emit a sound upon power-up. If persistent or unexpected beeping occurs, refer to the programming section for buzzer settings or potential error codes. A power flicker can sometimes cause a temporary beeping sequence.
