1. Introduction and Overview
The AcuRite Wireless Home Weather Station provides comprehensive indoor and outdoor weather information. It features an outdoor temperature sensor that measures outdoor temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and moon phase. The indoor display unit presents this data on an auto-dimming, backlit LCD color screen, along with indoor temperature, trend arrows, and daily high/low records for temperature and humidity.
Equipped with AcuRite Intelli-Time technology, the clock automatically adjusts for daylight saving time and retains time settings during power outages. The station utilizes self-calibrating technology to generate a personalized 12-hour weather forecast based on your local conditions.

3.2 Outdoor Sensor Setup and Placement
- Install two (2) AA alkaline or lithium batteries (not included) into the outdoor sensor.
- Select a suitable location for the outdoor sensor. For accurate readings, place the sensor in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure it is protected from direct rain and wind.
- Utilize the integrated hanger on the sensor to easily mount it on a post, tree branch, or other suitable outdoor structure.
- Ensure the sensor is within wireless range of the display unit (up to 330 feet / 100 meters). Thick walls or metal objects may reduce range.

3.3 Sensor Synchronization
The outdoor sensor and display unit typically synchronize automatically upon power-up. If synchronization issues occur, ensure both units are powered and within range. There is an A-B-C switch inside the battery compartment of both the display and the sensor. Ensure both switches are set to the same letter (A, B, or C) for proper communication.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Display Overview
The color display is organized into distinct sections for easy readability:
- Outdoor Section (Blue): Displays current outdoor temperature, humidity, and daily high/low records. Includes signal strength indicator for the outdoor sensor.
- Forecast Section (Center): Shows the 12-hour personalized weather forecast using dynamic icons (e.g., sunny, cloudy, rain). Also displays barometric pressure and moon phase.
- Indoor Section (Yellow): Displays current indoor temperature, humidity, and daily high/low records. Includes a humidity level indicator.
- Time & Date: Located at the top of the display.

4.2 Adjusting Display Brightness
A button on the top of the display unit allows you to adjust the backlight brightness. Press this button to cycle through different brightness levels, including an auto-dim feature that adjusts based on ambient light.
4.3 Interpreting Forecast and Trends
The weather station's self-calibrating technology analyzes changes in barometric pressure over a 14-day learning period to generate the most accurate forecast for your specific location. Trend arrows next to temperature and humidity readings indicate whether these values are rising, falling, or remaining steady.
5. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the outdoor sensor and display unit (if using backup batteries) when the low battery indicator appears on the display. It is recommended to replace all batteries at the same time.
- Cleaning: Clean the display unit and outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals that may damage the surfaces.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Outdoor Sensor Data:
- Ensure batteries are correctly installed and fresh in both the display and outdoor sensor.
- Verify that the A-B-C switch in both units is set to the same channel.
- Relocate the outdoor sensor closer to the display unit to improve signal strength. Avoid large metal surfaces or thick walls between units.
- Inaccurate Forecast:
- Allow 14 days for the self-calibrating technology to complete its learning mode for the most accurate forecast.
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is placed in an appropriate location, away from direct sunlight or heat sources that could skew temperature/humidity readings.
- Display Not Working:
- Check that the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the display unit and a working wall outlet.
- If using battery backup, ensure batteries are fresh and correctly installed.
