3.1 Baby Unit (Transmitter)

  • Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your baby monitor for first use.

4.1 Charging the Parent Unit

  1. Connect the small end of one power adapter to the power jack on the Parent Unit.
  2. Plug the large end of the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. Charge the Parent Unit for at least 12 hours before initial use. The battery indicator will show charging status. A full charge provides up to 14 hours of operating time.

4.2 Connecting the Baby Unit

  1. Connect the small end of the second power adapter to the power jack on the Baby Unit.
  2. Plug the large end of the power adapter into a wall outlet. The Baby Unit operates only on AC power.

4.3 Positioning the Units

  • Place the Baby Unit at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from your baby.
  • Position the Baby Unit and Parent Unit within range. The maximum outdoor range is 300 meters, and the indoor range is typically 50-60 meters.
  • Avoid placing units near other electronic devices (e.g., cordless phones, Wi-Fi routers) to prevent interference.
  • Ensure both units are placed on a flat, stable surface or mounted securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Turning On/Off

  • To turn on: Press and hold the Power button on both the Baby Unit and Parent Unit until the power indicator lights up.
  • To turn off: Press and hold the Power button on both units until the power indicator turns off.

5.2 Adjusting Volume (Parent Unit)

Press the Volume Up (▲) or Volume Down (▼) buttons on the Parent Unit to adjust the listening volume to your preferred level.

5.3 Night Light Function (Baby Unit)

Press the Night Light button on the Baby Unit to turn the soothing night light on or off. The light helps to calm your baby.

5.4 Sound Indicator LEDs (Parent Unit)

The five LEDs on the Parent Unit indicate the sound level detected by the Baby Unit. More LEDs light up as the sound intensity increases, providing a visual alert even when the volume is low or muted.

5.5 Out-of-Range Warning

If the Parent Unit loses connection with the Baby Unit (e.g., due to distance or interference), an audible warning will sound, and the link indicator will flash. Move the Parent Unit closer to the Baby Unit to re-establish connection.

5.6 Low Battery Indicator (Parent Unit)

When the Parent Unit's battery is low, the battery indicator will illuminate or flash, and an audible alert may sound. Connect the Parent Unit to its power adapter to recharge the battery.

5.7 Eco Mode

The VTech Classic Light BM1100 features an Eco Mode, which reduces radio wave emissions when the units are in close proximity and the baby is quiet. This mode helps conserve energy and minimize exposure to radio frequencies.
