Attaching the Guitar Strap
Locate the two strap pins on your guitar. One is typically at the base of the body, and the other near the neck joint. Securely attach each end of the strap to these pins. Adjust the strap length for comfortable playing, whether sitting or standing.
Tuning Your Guitar
Your Fender CD-60SCE features a built-in Fishman tuner. Press the tuner button to activate it. Pluck each string individually and adjust the corresponding tuning peg on the headstock until the tuner indicates the correct pitch (E, A, D, G, B, E from thickest to thinnest string). Always tune up to the desired note to ensure string stability.

The dreadnought body of the CD-60SCE provides a rich, full acoustic sound. Experiment with different strumming and picking techniques to explore its tonal range. The easy-to-play neck with rolled fingerboard edges enhances comfort for extended playing sessions.

Playing Amplified
To amplify your guitar, connect an instrument cable from the output jack (located at the base of the guitar) to an amplifier or recording device. Use the Fishman preamp controls (bass, volume, treble) to shape your sound. The built-in tuner can also be used while amplified.

Maintenance
Changing Strings
Regularly changing your guitar strings (typically every 2-3 months or 80-100 hours of play) helps maintain optimal tone and playability. Your bundle includes an extra set of Fender strings. To change strings, loosen the old strings, remove the bridge pins, insert new strings, re-insert pins, and tune to pitch. Always stretch new strings gently after installation to help them settle.
Adjusting the Truss Rod
The truss rod, accessible through the sound hole, allows for minor adjustments to the neck's relief. Use the included Allen wrench for this. If you notice excessive bowing or back-bowing of the neck, a small adjustment may be needed. It is recommended to consult a qualified luthier for significant neck adjustments to avoid damage.
Cleaning and Care
Use the included polishing cloth to regularly wipe down your guitar's body and neck, removing fingerprints and grime. Store your guitar in its hard case when not in use to protect it from dust, humidity changes, and physical damage.
Troubleshooting
- Poor Sound Quality: Check if strings are old or corroded; replace if necessary. Ensure the guitar is properly tuned. If amplified, check cable connections and amplifier settings.
- Buzzing Strings: This can be caused by improper string action or neck relief. Minor adjustments to the truss rod or saddle may be needed. Consult a luthier if unsure.
- Tuner Not Working: Ensure the battery in the Fishman preamp is charged. Replace the 9V battery if the display is dim or unresponsive.
