1. Introduction

The Beurer BM 95 is a medical device designed for non-invasive measurement and monitoring of arterial blood pressure and heart rhythm (ECG) in adults. This device allows for quick and easy measurement, storing the measured values and displaying the average. It is equipped with Bluetooth Low Energy technology for transferring data to the "beurer CardioExpert" app.

2. Important Safety Information

  • This device is intended for self-measurement of blood pressure and ECG. It is not a substitute for medical examination or treatment.

4. Device Overview

The Beurer BM 95 consists of the main monitor unit, an upper arm cuff, and a separate ECG stick. The main unit features a large display for readings, control buttons, and a port for the cuff and ECG stick.

Main Unit Features:

  • Display: Shows systolic, diastolic, pulse, time, date, and various indicators.
  • Start/Stop Button: Powers the device on/off and starts/stops measurements.
  • Memory Buttons (M1/M2): Access stored measurements for two users.
  • Bluetooth Indicator: Shows connection status to the app.

5. Setup

5.1. Inserting Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Insert four 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  4. The device will perform a self-test and then display the current time and date.

5.2. Connecting the Cuff

  • Insert the air tube connector of the cuff into the designated port on the left side of the blood pressure monitor unit. Ensure it is firmly connected.

5.3. Connecting the ECG Stick

  • Insert the cable connector of the ECG stick into the designated port on the right side of the blood pressure monitor unit. Ensure it is firmly connected.

6. Operating the Device

6.1. Preparing for Measurement

  • Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
  • Avoid eating, drinking caffeine, smoking, or exercising for 30 minutes prior.
  • Sit upright with your back supported, feet flat on the floor, and legs uncrossed.
  • Place your arm on a flat surface so the cuff is at heart level.

6.2. Blood Pressure Measurement

  1. Wrap the cuff snugly around your bare upper arm, approximately 2-3 cm above the elbow joint. The air tube should run along the inside of your arm.
  2. Press the Start/Stop button to turn on the device.
  3. The cuff will automatically inflate. Remain still and silent during the measurement.
  4. Once the measurement is complete, the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed.
  5. The measurement is automatically saved to the selected user memory.
  6. Press the Start/Stop button again to turn off the device.

6.3. ECG Measurement

  1. Ensure the ECG stick is connected to the main unit.
  2. Press the Start/Stop button to turn on the device.
  3. Select the ECG function if prompted (refer to device display for specific instructions).
  4. Hold the ECG stick firmly with your left hand, placing your left index finger on the top electrode and your right index finger on the side electrode. Ensure good skin contact.
  5. Remain still and silent for the duration of the ECG recording (typically 30 seconds).
  6. After the recording, the device will display the heart rate and an analysis of the rhythm.
  7. The ECG data is automatically saved and can be transferred to the app.
  8. Press the Start/Stop button to turn off the device.

7. Connecting to the "beurer CardioExpert" App

The Beurer BM 95 can transfer your measurement data via Bluetooth to the "beurer CardioExpert" app on your smartphone or tablet. This allows for detailed tracking and analysis of your blood pressure and ECG readings.

  1. Download the "beurer CardioExpert" app from your device's app store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play Store).
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone/tablet.
  3. Open the "beurer CardioExpert" app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your BM 95 device.
  4. Once paired, measurements taken on the BM 95 will automatically synchronize with the app when the app is open and Bluetooth is active.

Note: Some users have reported compatibility issues with newer iPhone models (e.g., iPhone 11 Pro Max) and certain iPad generations. The app may be optimized for older models (e.g., iPhone 5 to 6). Ensure your device's operating system and the app are updated to the latest versions for optimal performance.

8. Maintenance and Care

8.1. Cleaning the Device

  • Clean the main unit and ECG stick with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
  • The cuff can be carefully wiped with a damp cloth. Do not wash the cuff or immerse it in water.

8.2. Storage

  • Store the device and cuff in the provided storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

9. Troubleshooting
