Setup
Power Connection
Your Philips Audio AZ215B/12 can be powered by AC mains or batteries.
AC Power
- Ensure the voltage of your local power supply matches the voltage indicated on the rating plate located on the bottom of the unit.
- Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC power input jack on the unit.
- Plug the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet.
Battery Operation (Optional)
- Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert the required number of C size LR14 batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Disconnect the AC power cord when operating on batteries to prevent potential interference or damage.
Antenna Setup
For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic FM antenna. Adjust its position for the best signal clarity.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off.
CD Playback
- Press the FUNCTION/MODE button to select "CD" mode. The display will show "CD".
- Open the CD compartment cover.
- Place an audio CD with the label side facing up into the compartment.
- Close the CD compartment cover securely. The unit will begin reading the disc.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback.
- To pause, press PLAY/PAUSE again. Press again to resume.
- To skip to the next track, press the >> button. To go to the beginning of the current track or previous track, press the << button.
- To stop playback, press the STOP button.
FM Radio Operation
- Press the FUNCTION/MODE button to select "FM" mode. The display will show the radio frequency.
- Extend the FM telescopic antenna fully and adjust its position for optimal reception.
- To manually tune, press the << or >> buttons briefly to adjust the frequency step by step.
- To auto-scan for the next available station, press and hold the << or >> buttons until the frequency starts scanning. Release the button when a station is found.
Audio Input (AUX)
- Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the AUDIO IN (AUX) jack using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
- Press the FUNCTION/MODE button to select "AUX" mode.
- Start playback on your external audio device. The sound will be output through the Philips Audio AZ215B/12 speakers.
- Adjust the volume using the volume control on the unit and/or your external device.
Dynamic Bass Boost (DBB)
Press the DBB button to activate or deactivate the Dynamic Bass Boost feature, which enhances low-frequency sounds for a richer audio experience.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
- Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner. Avoid touching the lens directly.
Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for more than a few weeks to prevent leakage.
