3. Mounting the Unit
- Install the metal mounting sleeve into the vehicle's dashboard opening. Bend the tabs outward to secure it.
- Slide the car stereo unit into the mounting sleeve until it clicks into place.
- Reconnect the negative terminal of the car battery.
4. Attaching the Detachable Front Panel
Align the front panel with the main unit and gently push it until it locks into place. To remove, press the release button (usually labeled 'REL' or 'EJECT') and pull the panel away.
Basic Operation
1. Power On/Off
- Press the [POWER] button to turn the unit on.
- Press and hold the [POWER] button to turn the unit off.
2. Volume Control
Rotate the [VOLUME] knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
3. Source Selection
Press the [SOURCE] button repeatedly to cycle through available audio sources: FM, AM, Bluetooth, USB, SD, AUX.
4. Audio Settings (Equalizer, Music Zone)
- Equalizer: Press the [EQ] button to select from preset equalizer modes (e.g., Pop, Rock, Classic).
- Music Zone: Press the [ZONE] button to adjust the audio focus to specific areas within the car (Left, Right, Front).
Radio Operation (AM/FM)
1. Selecting Radio Band
In radio mode, press the [BAND] button to switch between FM1, FM2, FM3, and AM bands.
2. Tuning Stations
- Automatic Search: Press and hold the [SEEK <<] or [SEEK >>] buttons to automatically search for the next strong station.
- Manual Tuning: Briefly press the [SEEK <<] or [SEEK >>] buttons to manually tune the frequency step by step.
3. Storing Presets
To store a station, tune to the desired frequency, then press and hold one of the numeric preset buttons (1-6) until you hear a beep. The station is now saved to that preset.
4. Recalling Presets
Briefly press a numeric preset button (1-6) to recall a stored station.
Bluetooth Operation
1. Pairing a Bluetooth Device
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
- Select 'Bluetooth' as the source on the car stereo. The display will show 'PAIRING' or 'BT PAIR'.
- On your mobile device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select 'PHILIPS CAR AUDIO' (or similar name).
- If prompted for a PIN, enter '0000'.
- Once paired, the display will show 'CONNECTED' or 'BT ON'.
2. Bluetooth Audio Streaming (A2DP)
After successful pairing, you can play audio from your mobile device through the car stereo. Use the [PLAY/PAUSE], [NEXT], and [PREVIOUS] buttons on the car stereo or your mobile device to control playback.
3. Hands-Free Calling (HFP)
- Answering a Call: When a call comes in, press the [CALL] button (or similar) on the unit.
- Ending a Call: Press the [CALL] button again to end the conversation.
- Making a Call: Initiate calls from your paired mobile device. The audio will automatically transfer to the car stereo.
USB/SD Playback
1. Inserting USB/SD Media
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or an SD/SDHC card into the SD card slot.
- The unit will automatically switch to USB or SD source and begin playback.
2. Browsing and Playing Media
- Use the [NEXT] and [PREVIOUS] buttons to skip tracks.
