1. Introduction

This manual provides important information regarding the installation, operation, and maintenance of your SPT Under Counter Compact Electric Ice Maker, Model 150U. This unit is designed to produce up to 12 lbs of crescent-shaped ice per day and features a sleek black cabinet with a stainless steel reversible door. 2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation

This ice maker can be installed as a built-in unit or as a freestanding appliance. Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety.

4.1 Unpacking

1. Remove all packaging materials, including the foam base and adhesive tape.
2. Inspect the ice maker for any damage during transit. Report any damage to your dealer immediately.
3. Keep packaging materials until you are satisfied with the operation of your ice maker.

4.2 Location Requirements

• Place the ice maker on a flat, level surface capable of supporting its weight (Net Weight: 54 Lbs, Gross Weight: 67 Lbs).
• Ensure adequate air circulation around the unit, especially for freestanding applications. For built-in, the front ventilation is key.
• Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
• Ensure the electrical outlet meets the specifications (115V/60Hz).

4.3 Water Connection

Important: Installation of the water line connection must be performed by a licensed plumber. The unit requires a potable water supply. No drain is required for this model.

• Connect the provided 25 ft water line to the ice maker's water inlet and to a cold water supply with a shut-off valve.
• Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free.

4.4 Electrical Connection

• Plug the ice maker into a dedicated, grounded 115V/60Hz electrical outlet.
• Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Startup

1. After installation, allow the unit to stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
2. Turn on the water supply to the unit.
3. Plug in the ice maker. The unit will begin its ice-making cycle automatically.
4. Discard the first few batches of ice to ensure the system is clean.

5.2 Ice Production

• The ice maker will produce crescent-shaped ice.
• Daily ice production capacity is up to 12 lbs.
• The removable ice bin can hold up to 6 lbs of ice.
• The unit features an auto shut-off function when the ice bin is full.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

6.2 Interior Cleaning (Manual Defrost)

• Clean the interior surfaces with a solution of mild detergent and warm water.
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
• The unit features manual defrost. If ice buildup occurs, unplug the unit and allow the ice to melt naturally. Do not use sharp objects to remove ice.

6.3 Condenser Cleaning

The condenser coils, located behind the front ventilation grille, should be cleaned periodically to maintain efficiency. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and lint.
