5. Installation
The Schellenberg Smart DRIVE 10 is designed for quick and easy installation, with up to 90% of the unit pre-assembled. It is suitable for both swing doors and sectional doors.
5.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Ensure your garage door operates smoothly and is properly balanced.
- Verify that the required clearances are met: a minimum of 35mm distance from the ceiling.
- The installation area must be dry and protected from splashing water.
5.2 Mounting the Drive Unit and Rail
- Assemble the drive rail sections. The continuous drive chain is pre-assembled on one part of the rail and needs to be extended onto the other sections.
- Attach the motor head to the assembled drive rail.
- Mount the entire assembly to the ceiling of your garage, ensuring it is centered with the garage door. Secure it firmly using the provided mounting hardware. It is recommended to have assistance due to the weight and length of the unit.
- Connect the door arm to the garage door and the trolley on the drive rail.
