2. Setup and Initial Configuration

Before first use, you will need to set up your User PIN. The datAshur PRO requires a 7-15 digit PIN for authentication.

2.1 Setting the User PIN

Press and hold the SHIFT key (bottom right button) for approximately one second to awaken the drive. The red LED will appear.
Press the KEY button (bottom left button) once. The green and blue LEDs will flash together.
Enter your desired 7-15 digit User PIN on the keypad.
Press the KEY button again to confirm your PIN. The green LED will flash, indicating successful PIN setup.

Once the PIN is set, the drive is ready for use. Remember your PIN, as incorrect attempts can lead to data loss.

3. Operating the datAshur PRO

3.1 Unlocking the Drive

Press and hold the SHIFT key (bottom right button) for approximately one second. The red LED will appear.
Press the KEY button (bottom left button) once. The green and blue LEDs will flash together.
Enter your 7-15 digit User PIN.
Press the KEY button again. The green LED will begin to flash.
You now have 30 seconds to insert the datAshur PRO drive into a USB port on your device. The green LED will turn solid, indicating the drive is unlocked and ready for use.

3.2 Transferring Files

Once unlocked and connected, the datAshur PRO functions like any standard USB flash drive. You can drag and drop files, copy and paste, or save directly to the drive. All data copied to the drive is automatically encrypted in real-time.

3.3 Locking the Drive

To lock the drive, simply eject it safely from your operating system and then remove it from the USB port. The drive will automatically lock and encrypt all stored data.
