5.2 Antenna Adjustment
For optimal reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully. For AM and SW bands, the internal ferrite bar antenna is primarily used, but extending the telescopic antenna can still improve reception. For FM and TV bands, the telescopic antenna is crucial for clear reception.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off and Volume Control
Rotate the Volume Control knob clockwise to turn the radio ON. Continue rotating clockwise to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease the volume, and rotate fully counter-clockwise until a click is heard to turn the radio OFF.
6.2 Band Selection
Use the Band Selector switch to choose your desired frequency band: AM, FM, SW (Shortwave), or TV (for TV audio broadcasts).
6.3 Tuning to a Station
- Select the desired band using the Band Selector switch.
- Slowly rotate the Tuning Dial to scan through frequencies.
- Stop rotating when you hear a clear broadcast. Fine-tune slightly for the best reception.
- Adjust the telescopic antenna's position and length for optimal signal strength, especially for FM, SW, and TV bands.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the radio's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the sound becomes weak or distorted. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
- Storage: If storing the radio for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent corrosion. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
