Setup
- Initial Power-Up: Plug the EMOS P5821 Energy Cost Meter into a standard wall socket. The LCD display should illuminate.
- Battery Installation (if not pre-installed): The device uses 2x 1.5V (LR44/AG13) batteries for data backup. Locate the battery compartment, typically on the back, and insert the batteries with correct polarity.
- Connect Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the socket on the front of the EMOS P5821 meter.

Operating Instructions
Once an appliance is connected and powered on, the meter will begin measuring its electricity consumption. Use the buttons to navigate through different display modes and settings.
Button Functions:
- HISTORY: Press to view historical data or switch between different time-based measurements (e.g., daily, weekly, total).
- ENERGY/+: Cycles through various energy-related displays such as current power (W), voltage (V), amperage (A), and total energy consumption (kWh). Also used to increase values during setting.
- COST/-: Displays the calculated cost of electricity consumed. Can also be used to decrease values during setting.
- SET/OK: Enters setting mode (e.g., to set electricity tariff) or confirms a selection.
- RESET: Resets all accumulated data and settings to default. Use with caution.
To set the electricity tariff for cost calculation, press the SET/OK button and use ENERGY/+ and COST/- to adjust the price per kWh, then press SET/OK again to confirm.
Maintenance
- Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the ventilation slots (if any) are not blocked.
- Replace the backup batteries (LR44/AG13) periodically, or if the display shows signs of fading when unplugged.
Troubleshooting
