This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient use of your EMOS TGE-5 Digital Outdoor Timer. Safety Instructions
- Ensure the timer is correctly installed and connected to a suitable power source.
- Do not immerse the timer in water. It is rated IP44 (splash-proof), suitable for outdoor use but not for submersion.
- Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 16 A / 3680 W.
- Keep out of reach of children. The device includes child protection features.

Setup
- Initial Charge: Before first use, plug the timer into a power outlet for approximately 30 minutes to charge the internal NiMH button cell battery. This battery backup ensures that your programmed settings are retained during power outages.
- Clear All Settings: Press the RST/RCL button to clear any previous settings and reset the timer to its default state.
- Set Current Time:
- Press and hold the CLOCK button.
- While holding CLOCK, press WEEK to set the current day of the week.
- While holding CLOCK, press HOUR to set the current hour.
- While holding CLOCK, press MINUTE to set the current minute.
- Release the CLOCK button. The time is now set.
- Daylight Saving Time (DST): If your region observes daylight saving time, refer to the specific instructions for activating the DST function (often indicated by a sun icon or "SUMMER" on the display).
- Connecting an Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to control into the Schuko socket on the timer. Ensure the appliance's power consumption does not exceed the timer's maximum rating.

Operating Instructions
The EMOS TGE-5 allows you to program up to 10 ON/OFF programs per day with a minimum switching time of 1 minute.
Programming ON/OFF Cycles:
- Press the TIMER button once. The display will show "1 ON" (Program 1 ON time).
- Press WEEK to select the day(s) for this program. You can choose a single day, weekdays, weekends, or all days.
- Press HOUR to set the desired hour for the appliance to turn ON.
- Press MINUTE to set the desired minute for the appliance to turn ON.
- Press the TIMER button again. The display will show "1 OFF" (Program 1 OFF time).
- Repeat steps 2-4 to set the desired day(s), hour, and minute for the appliance to turn OFF.
- Continue pressing TIMER to cycle through and set up to 10 ON/OFF programs (20 settings in total).
- After setting all desired programs, press the CLOCK button to return to the current time display.
Setting Operating Mode:
Press the ON/AUTO/OFF RANDOM button to cycle through the operating modes:
- ON: The appliance connected to the timer will remain continuously ON, overriding all programs.
- AUTO: The timer will operate according to your programmed ON/OFF cycles. This is the standard operating mode for scheduled control.
- OFF: The appliance connected to the timer will remain continuously OFF, overriding all programs.
- RANDOM: Activates a random ON/OFF function, typically used for security purposes to simulate occupancy. The exact timing of random switching may vary.
Always ensure the timer is set to AUTO mode for your programs to execute.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the timer from the power outlet before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: If storing the timer for an extended period, ensure the internal battery is charged periodically to maintain its life and retain settings. Store in a dry, cool place.
- Battery: The internal NiMH button cell battery is designed for long-term use. If the display becomes dim or settings are frequently lost despite charging, the battery may need professional replacement.
