Image 1: Main Display Unit. This image shows the front of the TFA Dostmann 30.3060.01 main display unit. The screen is divided into sections, displaying current time, date, indoor temperature and humidity, and readings from three external wireless sensors, each with a colored label (Schlafen, Kidz, Garten - German for Sleep, Kids, Garden). Control buttons are visible at the bottom.

Wireless Transmitters

The three wireless transmitters measure temperature and humidity at their respective locations and transmit the data to the main display unit. They are designed for both indoor and outdoor use.

5. Battery Installation

  1. Main Display Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Insert the required AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
  2. Wireless Transmitters: Open the battery compartment on each transmitter. Insert the required AA batteries, observing correct polarity. Close the compartment.
  3. The main unit will automatically begin searching for signals from the transmitters once powered on.

Note: A total of 9 AA batteries are required (e.g., 3 for the main unit, 2 for each of the 3 transmitters, or as specified in the product packaging).

6. Setup and Pairing

  1. Initial Power-On: After inserting batteries into both the main unit and all transmitters, the main unit will power on and start searching for signals.
  2. Transmitter Placement: Place the wireless transmitters in your desired monitoring locations (e.g., bedroom, children's room, cellar, outdoors). Ensure they are within the transmission range of the main unit and not obstructed by large metal objects.
  3. Automatic Pairing: The main unit should automatically detect and display readings from the transmitters. This process may take a few minutes.
  4. Manual Channel Selection: Use the 'CH' button on the main unit to cycle through the different channels (transmitters) or to view all channels in rotation.
  5. Setting Time and Date: Use the 'SET' button to enter the time and date setting mode. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust values and 'SET' to confirm and move to the next setting. The device features a radio-controlled clock for automatic synchronization.
  6. Labeling Measurement Points: The main unit allows for individual labeling of measurement points (as seen in Image 1). Refer to the on-screen prompts or specific manual section for detailed instructions on customizing these labels.

7. Operation

Reading Temperature and Humidity

The main display unit shows current temperature and relative humidity for the indoor sensor (integrated into the main unit) and each connected wireless transmitter. The ideal indoor temperature range is 18°C to 22°C, with relative humidity between 40% and 60%.

Time and Date Display

The device displays the current time (to the second) and the full date, automatically synchronized via its radio-controlled clock function.

WeatherHub SmartHome Integration (Optional)

This device can connect to the WeatherHub SmartHome system (sold separately). This allows you to access your temperature and humidity data remotely via a smartphone application. Refer to the WeatherHub SmartHome system's manual for integration instructions.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the device and transmitters with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Always replace all batteries in a unit at the same time.
  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage.

9. Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Power: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh.
  • No Sensor Readings: Ensure transmitters have fresh batteries and are within range of the main unit. Press the 'CH' button to re-scan for channels. Reduce obstacles between the main unit and transmitters.
  • Incorrect Time/Date: Ensure the device is in an area with good radio signal reception for the radio-controlled clock. Manually set the time if automatic synchronization fails.
  • Inconsistent Readings: Ensure sensors are not exposed to direct sunlight, heat sources, or excessive moisture, which can affect accuracy.
