Operating the Router
Connecting Devices
The Archer MR200 supports both wireless and wired connections.
- Wireless Connection: Search for the router's Wi-Fi network (SSID) on your device and enter the Wi-Fi password. The router supports IEEE 802.11ac/n/a on 5GHz and IEEE 802.11b/g/n on 2.4GHz.
- Wired Connection: Use an Ethernet cable to connect your device to any of the router's LAN ports.
Dual Band Wi-Fi
The router operates on two separate Wi-Fi bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 2.4GHz band offers wider coverage, while the 5GHz band provides faster speeds and less interference, ideal for streaming and gaming.

Figure 4: Visual representation of the router's connectivity capabilities, including 4G LTE speeds (up to 150 Mbps download, 50 Mbps upload), 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (up to 300 Mbps), and 5 GHz Wi-Fi (up to 433 Mbps).
WAN Connection Backup
The Archer MR200 features a LAN4/WAN port, allowing it to function as a traditional wireless router that connects to a cable, fiber, or DSL modem. This provides a backup internet connection in case your 4G LTE service is unavailable.

Maintenance
Firmware Updates
Regularly check for and install firmware updates to ensure optimal performance, security, and access to new features. You can usually find firmware updates on the official TP-Link website for your specific model.
Resetting the Router
If you encounter persistent issues or forget your login credentials, you can reset the router to its factory default settings. Locate the WPS/RESET button on the back of the router. With the router powered on, press and hold this button for approximately 8-10 seconds until the system LED blinks rapidly. Release the button, and the router will restart with factory settings.
Troubleshooting
- No Internet Access:
- Check if the SIM card is properly inserted and activated with your mobile network provider.
- Verify that the Internet LED on the router is solid green. If not, there might be an issue with the 4G LTE connection.
- Ensure your device is correctly connected to the router (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
- Try restarting the router by unplugging and replugging the power adapter.
- Weak Wi-Fi Signal or Slow Speed:
- Relocate the router to a central location, away from obstacles and interference sources (e.g., cordless phones, microwaves).
- Ensure the external antennas are properly attached and oriented.
- Try connecting to the 5GHz Wi-Fi band for faster speeds if your device supports it and is close to the router.
- Check for firmware updates.
- Cannot Access Router's Web Management Page:
- Ensure your device is connected to the router.
- Verify that you are using the correct address (
tplinkwifi.netor192.168.1.1). - Clear your browser's cache and cookies, or try a different browser.
- Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer.
