Setup
Initial Cleaning
- Before first use, wash the kettle thoroughly with warm, soapy water.
- Rinse completely and dry with a soft cloth.
Filling the Kettle
- Remove the lid.
- Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the maximum fill line (approximately 1.0 Liter capacity). Overfilling can lead to boiling water spilling out.
- Replace the lid securely.
Stovetop Placement
- The Stagg Kettle is compatible with gas and electric stovetops.
- Important: This kettle is NOT compatible with induction stovetops.
- For gas stovetops, ensure the flame size does not extend beyond the base of the kettle to prevent damage to the handle.

Operating Instructions
Heating Water
- Place the filled kettle on your stovetop burner.
- Turn on the heat. For gas stoves, adjust the flame so it does not extend past the kettle's base.
- Monitor the built-in thermometer on the lid. The red range indicates the optimal brewing temperature for pour-over coffee, typically between 195°F and 205°F (90°C and 96°C).
- Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the kettle from the heat.

Precision Pouring
- The Stagg Kettle's gooseneck spout is designed for a slow, steady, and controlled pour, essential for pour-over brewing.
- The counterbalanced handle provides an intuitive grip, allowing for precise water flow.
- Tilt the kettle gently to begin pouring. Adjust the tilt to control the flow rate.

Maintenance and Care
Cleaning
- The Fellow Stagg Kettle is not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only.
- Wash with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots and maintain the finish.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the kettle's surface.
Descaling
- Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas.
- To descale, fill the kettle with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water.
- Bring the solution to a boil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy buildup.
- Empty the kettle, rinse thoroughly several times, and wipe dry.
Troubleshooting
- Issue: Handle damage or melting on gas stovetops.
- Solution: Ensure the flame on your gas stovetop does not extend beyond the base of the kettle. Direct flame contact with the handle can cause damage. Position the kettle on a burner that matches its base diameter.
- Issue: Paint peeling on the kettle's exterior.
- Information: The manufacturer acknowledges that wear on the paint finish can occur due to the nature of the materials and design. This is generally considered a cosmetic issue and does not affect the kettle's operation. It is typically not covered under warranty.
- Issue: Steam or condensation inside the thermometer gauge.
- Information: It is normal for some steam to enter the thermometer gauge at boiling temperatures. This condensation will dissipate as the kettle cools. This does not indicate a malfunction.
- Issue: Kettle does not whistle.
- Information: The Fellow Stagg Kettle is designed without a whistling mechanism. It will not produce a whistle when water boils.
