Operating Instructions

Heating Water

  1. Place the filled kettle on your stovetop burner.
  2. Turn on the heat. For gas stoves, adjust the flame so it does not extend past the kettle's base.
  3. Monitor the built-in thermometer on the lid. The red range indicates the optimal brewing temperature for pour-over coffee, typically between 195°F and 205°F (90°C and 96°C).
  4. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the kettle from the heat.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Handle damage or melting on gas stovetops.
Solution: Ensure the flame on your gas stovetop does not extend beyond the base of the kettle. Direct flame contact with the handle can cause damage. Position the kettle on a burner that matches its base diameter.
Issue: Paint peeling on the kettle's exterior.
Information: The manufacturer acknowledges that wear on the paint finish can occur due to the nature of the materials and design. This is generally considered a cosmetic issue and does not affect the kettle's operation. It is typically not covered under warranty.
Issue: Steam or condensation inside the thermometer gauge.
Information: It is normal for some steam to enter the thermometer gauge at boiling temperatures. This condensation will dissipate as the kettle cools. This does not indicate a malfunction.
Issue: Kettle does not whistle.
Information: The Fellow Stagg Kettle is designed without a whistling mechanism. It will not produce a whistle when water boils.
