3. Device Components

- Master Volume Dial: Controls the overall output volume to your headset.
- Game/Voice Balance Dial: Adjusts the mix between game audio and voice chat. Turn towards 'GAME' for more game audio, towards 'VOICE' for more chat audio.
- EQ Button: Cycles through four customizable equalizer presets.
- Dolby Button: Toggles Dolby Surround Sound processing on or off.
- Power Button: Turns the MixAmp Pro TR on or off.

4. Setup Guide
4.1 PlayStation 4 Connection
- Connect the Micro-USB Cable from the MixAmp Pro TR's USB port to an available USB port on your PlayStation 4.
- Connect the TOSlink Optical Cable from the MixAmp Pro TR's Optical port to the Optical Digital Out port on your PlayStation 4.
- Connect your gaming headset to the Headset Port on the front edge of the MixAmp Pro TR.
- On your PlayStation 4, navigate to Settings > Sound and Screen > Audio Output Settings.
- Set Primary Output Port to Digital Out (Optical).
- Select Dolby Digital as the audio format.
- Go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices.
- Set Input Device and Output Device to ASTRO MixAmp Pro TR.
- Adjust Volume Control (Headphones) to maximum.
- Set Output to Headphones to Chat Audio or All Audio as preferred.
4.2 PC / Mac Connection
- Connect the Micro-USB Cable from the MixAmp Pro TR's USB port to an available USB port on your PC or Mac.
- Connect your gaming headset to the Headset Port on the front edge of the MixAmp Pro TR. If your headset uses separate 3.5mm jacks for audio and microphone, use the included PC Headset Y-Adapter.
- On your computer, set the ASTRO MixAmp Pro TR as the default playback and recording device in your sound settings.
- For optimal performance and customization, download and install the ASTRO Command Center software from the ASTRO Gaming website.
5. Operation
5.1 Master Volume Control
The large dial on the MixAmp Pro TR controls the overall volume level of your headset. Rotate clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
5.2 Game/Voice Balance
The smaller dial below the master volume allows you to adjust the balance between game audio and voice chat. Turning the dial towards 'GAME' will prioritize game sounds, while turning it towards 'VOICE' will make chat audio more prominent.
5.3 Equalizer Presets
Press the EQ button (three horizontal bars icon) to cycle through four pre-loaded or custom equalizer presets. Each press will switch to the next preset, indicated by LED lights.
5.4 Dolby Surround Sound
Press the Dolby button (headphone icon with Dolby logo) to toggle Dolby Surround Sound on or off. When active, the LED will illuminate, providing a virtual surround sound experience.
5.5 Power Control
Press the Power button (circle with vertical line) to turn the MixAmp Pro TR on or off. The LED indicator will show the power status.
6. ASTRO Command Center Software
The ASTRO Command Center software is a powerful tool for customizing your MixAmp Pro TR. It allows you to:
- Create and save custom EQ presets.
- Adjust microphone settings, including noise gate and sidetone.
- Configure stream output levels for game, chat, microphone, and auxiliary audio.
- Update MixAmp firmware to ensure optimal performance and access new features.
The software is available for download on the official ASTRO Gaming website.
7. Maintenance and Care
- Keep the MixAmp Pro TR clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Ensure all cables are securely connected but do not force them into ports.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.
8. Troubleshooting
No Audio Output
- Verify all cables (USB, Optical, Headset) are securely connected.
- Check the Master Volume dial on the MixAmp Pro TR and ensure it is not at minimum.
- Confirm the MixAmp Pro TR is powered on.
- For PS4: Ensure audio output settings are correctly configured as described in Section 4.1.
- For PC/Mac: Verify the MixAmp Pro TR is selected as the default playback device in your operating system's sound settings.
Microphone Not Working
- Ensure your headset's microphone is not muted.
- Check the microphone connection to your headset and the MixAmp Pro TR. If using a Y-adapter, ensure it is correctly connected.
- For PS4: Verify the MixAmp Pro TR is selected as the input device in PS4 audio settings.
- For PC/Mac: Confirm the MixAmp Pro TR is selected as the default recording device in your operating system's sound settings.
- Adjust microphone levels within your device's settings or the ASTRO Command Center.
Distorted Audio / Buzzing Noise
- Ensure all cables are fully inserted and not damaged.
- Try connecting the MixAmp Pro TR to a different USB port on your console or computer.
- Reduce the Master Volume to see if distortion decreases.
- Update the MixAmp Pro TR firmware using the ASTRO Command Center software.
