3. Product Features

3.1. EBL 8-Bay Smart Charger

• Compatibility: Designed for 1-8 Ni-MH Ni-Cd AA or AAA rechargeable batteries. Do not attempt to charge alkaline or Lithium batteries.
• Individual Charging: Each bay charges independently, allowing for flexible charging of 1 to 8 batteries simultaneously.
• Smart LED Indicators: Clear LED lights indicate charging status for each slot:
  • Red Light: Charging in progress.
  • Green Light: Battery fully charged.
  • Red LED Flash: Indicates a bad battery or non-rechargeable battery.
• Safety Features: Incorporates advanced fire-proof material and multiple protections including auto shut-off to prevent over-charging, short circuit protection, over-temperature protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, and reverse polarity protection.

• Low Self-Discharge: Retains approximately 80% of its capacity after 3 years of non-use due to embedded seal structure.

• Optimized Performance: Made with super lattice alloy for high charge retention, low capacity loss, and excellent discharge performance at high temperatures. They also feature a slightly higher voltage (0.1V) when fully charged for extended use.

4. Setup

1. Connect the Charger: Plug the provided AC adapter cable into the charger's AC port and then into a standard wall outlet (100-240V).
2. Insert Batteries: Insert 1 to 8 compatible Ni-MH or Ni-Cd AA/AAA rechargeable batteries into the charging slots. Ensure correct polarity (+ and - ends match the markings in the charger slots).
3. Initial Charge: For optimal performance, new batteries may require 2-3 full charge and discharge cycles to reach their peak capacity.

5. Operating Instructions

Once batteries are correctly inserted and the charger is powered on, the charging process will begin automatically. The smart LED indicators will provide real-time status updates:

• Red Light: Indicates that the battery in that specific slot is currently charging.
• Green Light: Indicates that the battery in that specific slot is fully charged. The charger will automatically stop charging to prevent overcharge.
• Red LED Flash: This indicates an issue with the battery. It could be a bad (damaged) battery or a non-rechargeable battery (e.g., alkaline) inserted into the charger. Remove such batteries immediately.

Charging time can vary depending on the battery's capacity and its current charge level. Typically, AA batteries may take 4-6 hours to fully charge.

6. Maintenance

• Storage: Store batteries in the provided storage boxes when not in use to protect them from damage and short circuits.
• Cleaning: Keep the charger and battery contacts clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any dust or debris.
• Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the charger or batteries to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or moisture.
• Proper Disposal: Dispose of old or damaged rechargeable batteries according to local regulations. Do not dispose of them in household waste.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Batteries Not Charging (Red LED Flashing)

• Check Battery Type: Ensure that only Ni-MH or Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries are inserted. Alkaline or Lithium batteries are not compatible and will cause the LED to flash red.
• Check Polarity: Verify that batteries are inserted with the correct positive (+) and negative (-) orientation.
• Inspect Batteries: A red flashing LED can indicate a bad or damaged battery. Try charging a different battery to confirm if the issue is with the battery or the charger slot.

7.2. Charger Not Powering On

• Power Connection: Ensure the AC adapter cable is securely plugged into both the charger and a working wall outlet.
• Outlet Functionality: Test the wall outlet with another device to confirm it is supplying power.
