1. Product Overview

The Pana-Vue 2 Illuminated Slide Viewer is a compact, tabletop device designed for convenient viewing of 35mm slides. It features a bright, 2x magnification lens and a clear 2 x 2 inch viewing screen, allowing for detailed inspection of your slides. The viewer is portable and operates on two AA batteries, making it suitable for use in various locations. An optional Pana-Vue transformer (not included) can be used for household current operation.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the Pana-Vue 2 Slide Viewer.
  2. Gently slide open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: For continuous use without batteries, an optional Pana-Vue AC transformer (not included) can be connected to the designated port on the viewer.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Viewing Slides

  1. Ensure batteries are installed or the optional AC adapter is connected.
  2. Hold the slide viewer with the viewing screen facing you.
  3. Insert a 35mm slide into the slot located at the top of the viewer. The slide should fit snugly.
  4. Press down on the light bar, typically located near the slide slot, to illuminate the slide.
  5. Look through the viewing screen to observe the magnified image of your slide.
  6. Release the light bar to turn off the illumination.
  7. Remove the slide by gently pulling it out of the slot.

Tip: Some users find it convenient to use the same finger that inserted the slide to activate and hold down the light bar.

When the light dims or fails to illuminate, it is time to replace the AA batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 3.1.
