4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the cooker for any damage.
  2. Initial Cleaning:
    • Wash the inner pot, lid, and steam collector with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
    • Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Assembly:
    • Place the inner pot into the main unit. Ensure it is seated correctly.
    • Attach the steam collector to its designated slot on the back of the cooker.
    • Place the lid onto the cooker, aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the main unit. Rotate clockwise until it locks into place.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The display will illuminate.

5. Operating Instructions

The Electrolux PCC10 offers 6 cooking modes for versatile meal preparation:

  1. Add Ingredients: Place desired food and liquids into the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Secure Lid: Close the lid and rotate it clockwise until it locks. Ensure the pressure release valve is in the correct position (usually "Sealing" or "Pressure").
  3. Select Cooking Mode: Press the corresponding function button on the control panel for your desired cooking method:
    • Fry: For browning ingredients before pressure cooking or for general frying.
    • Cook: General cooking function, often used for rice or grains.
    • Sauté: For sautéing vegetables or meats.
    • Sauce Function: For simmering sauces or reducing liquids.
    • Keep Warm: Automatically activates after cooking to maintain food temperature.
    • High Pressure: For fast cooking of various foods under high pressure.
  4. Adjust Time/Pressure: Use the timer/pressure adjustment buttons to set the desired cooking time or pressure level, if applicable for the selected mode.
  5. Start Cooking: Press the Start button. The cooker will begin the preheating phase, then the cooking cycle.
  6. Pressure Release: Once cooking is complete, the cooker will beep. You can choose between:
    • Natural Release: Allow the pressure to dissipate naturally. This is recommended for foamy foods or large cuts of meat.
    • Quick Release: Carefully turn the pressure release valve to the "Venting" position. Exercise extreme caution as hot steam will be released.
  7. Open Lid: Once all pressure has been released (the float valve will drop), rotate the lid counter-clockwise and lift it away from your face.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pressure cooker.

  1. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pot: The non-stick inner pot can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water or placed in a dishwasher. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the non-stick coating.
  3. Lid: Wash the lid, sealing ring, and steam release valve assembly with warm, soapy water. Ensure all parts are free of food debris. The sealing ring should be inspected regularly for cracks or damage and replaced if necessary.
  4. Steam Collector: Empty and wash the steam collector after each use.
  5. Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the main unit in water.
  6. Storage: Store the cleaned and dried pressure cooker in a dry place. You may invert the lid on the inner pot to prevent odors.
