Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify that all components are present: main tank, pump assembly, spray lance, hose, shoulder straps, and any included nozzles or spare parts.
  2. Attach Hose: Connect one end of the hose to the outlet port on the bottom of the tank and the other end to the handle of the spray lance. Ensure connections are secure to prevent leaks.
  3. Assemble Lance: If the spray lance is in multiple pieces, assemble them according to the diagrams on the packaging or included leaflet. Attach the desired nozzle to the end of the lance.
  4. Install Pump Handle: Insert the pump handle into its designated slot on the pump assembly. Ensure it moves freely up and down.
  5. Attach Shoulder Straps: Securely attach the shoulder straps to the designated loops or hooks on the sprayer tank. Adjust the straps for comfortable fit before filling.
  6. Initial Inspection: Before first use, inspect all connections and components for any damage or loose parts.

Operating Instructions

  1. Prepare Solution: Always mix your desired liquid solution (e.g., herbicide, insecticide, fertilizer) in a separate container according to the chemical manufacturer's instructions. Do not mix chemicals directly in the sprayer tank unless explicitly stated by the chemical manufacturer.
  2. Fill Tank: Unscrew the lid of the sprayer tank. Using a funnel, carefully pour the prepared solution into the tank. Do not overfill; leave some space for air pressure.
  3. Secure Lid: Tightly screw the lid back onto the tank to ensure an airtight seal.
  4. Pressurize Sprayer: Place the sprayer on a stable surface or put it on your back. Pump the handle up and down repeatedly until resistance is felt and the tank is pressurized. Approximately 10-20 pumps are usually sufficient, depending on the desired pressure.
  5. Begin Spraying: Aim the spray lance at the target area. Press the trigger on the lance handle to release the spray.
  6. Adjust Nozzle: Rotate the nozzle tip to adjust the spray pattern from a fine mist to a coarse stream, or to switch between cone and fan patterns if interchangeable nozzles are provided.
  7. Maintain Pressure: As you spray, the pressure in the tank will decrease. Continue to pump the handle periodically to maintain consistent spray pressure.
  8. Depressurize After Use: Once finished spraying, release any remaining pressure in the tank by holding the trigger until no more liquid or air is expelled. Alternatively, carefully unscrew the lid slightly to release pressure, ensuring no chemical splashes.

Maintenance

  • Clean After Each Use: After each use, thoroughly rinse the tank, hose, and lance with clean water. Pump clean water through the sprayer to flush out any chemical residue from the internal components and nozzle.
  • Clean Nozzle: If the nozzle becomes clogged, remove it and clean it with water and a soft brush. Do not use metal objects to clear the nozzle opening as this can damage it.
  • Check Seals and O-rings: Periodically inspect all seals and O-rings for wear or damage. Replace them if necessary to prevent leaks and maintain proper pressure. Spare parts may be included or available from the manufacturer.
  • Lubricate Pump: Apply a small amount of silicone grease or petroleum jelly to the pump piston seal periodically to ensure smooth operation and maintain a good seal.
  • Proper Storage: Store the sprayer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and freezing temperatures. Ensure the tank is empty and clean before storage. Do not store chemicals in the sprayer.
