2. Safety Instructions

Before operating your iQ15 loudspeaker, please read and understand all safety instructions. Retain these instructions for future reference.

  • Electrical Safety: Always connect the loudspeaker to a grounded power outlet. Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. Do not open the enclosure; there are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Placement: Ensure the loudspeaker is placed on a stable, level surface or securely mounted using appropriate hardware. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

  • Use high-quality balanced XLR cables for optimal signal integrity.
  • Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the system.

5. Operation

The Turbosound iQ15 incorporates advanced Klark Teknik DSP technology for comprehensive control over its audio characteristics.

5.1 Powering On/Off

  1. Before powering on, ensure all volume controls on the iQ15 and connected audio sources are set to minimum.
  2. Flip the power switch to the ON position. The power indicator LED will illuminate.
  3. Gradually increase the volume to the desired listening level.
  4. To power off, reduce volume to minimum, then flip the power switch to the OFF position.

5.2 Klark Teknik DSP Control

The integrated Klark Teknik DSP provides access to various settings, including:

  • Speaker Modelling: Select from accurate models of industry-standard speakers to emulate their sonic characteristics. Refer to the full user manual (not this document) for a list of available models and their applications.
  • Spatial Contour Control (SCC): This feature allows you to compensate the frequency response based on the physical placement of the speaker (e.g., wall-mounted, corner, free-standing). Adjust SCC settings to optimize sound clarity and balance in different environments.
  • ULTRANET Networking: The iQ15 supports ULTRANET, allowing for digital audio networking and remote control with compatible devices. Consult the ULTRANET documentation for detailed setup and operation.

Access and adjust these settings via the rear panel display and controls. Detailed navigation instructions are typically found in the comprehensive product manual.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Turbosound iQ15 loudspeaker.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the speaker from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes.
  • Grille Cleaning: The front grille can be gently vacuumed to remove dust and debris.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the loudspeaker in a dry, temperature-controlled environment, ideally in its original packaging or a protective cover.
  • Inspection: Periodically check cables and connections for wear or damage.
