2. Setup and Fitting

Proper fitting is crucial for effective respiratory protection. Follow these steps to correctly set up and wear your GVS Elipse P100 Respirator:

  1. Inspect the Respirator: Before each use, check the mask body, straps, and filters for any signs of damage, cracks, or wear. Ensure the filters are securely attached.
  2. Adjust Head Straps: Hold the respirator with one hand and pull the head straps over your head with the other. Position the mask over your nose and mouth. The top strap should rest on the crown of your head, and the neck strap should rest around your neck below your ears.
  3. Tighten Straps: Pull the ends of the straps to tighten the mask until it feels secure but comfortable. Do not overtighten. The mask should fit snugly against your face without gaps.
  4. Perform a Seal Check:
    • Positive Pressure Check: Place the palm of your hand over the exhalation valve cover (front center of the mask) and gently exhale. The mask should slightly bulge outwards, and you should feel no air leaking from the edges.
    • Negative Pressure Check: Place the palms of your hands over the filter covers on both sides of the mask and gently inhale. The mask should pull inward towards your face, and you should feel no air leaking from the edges.
If you detect any leaks during the seal check, readjust the straps and repeat the check. If leaks persist, the mask may be damaged or incorrectly sized.

3. Operating Instructions

Once properly fitted, the GVS Elipse P100 Respirator provides effective protection in environments containing dust and fumes. It is recommended for use in situations involving micro-organisms, marble, gypsum, titanium oxide, rock wool, wood, detergents, and various dusts that can cause lung disease, including asbestos, bauxite, coal, silica, and iron.

The mask's compact design allows for a full range of vision and does not interfere with other personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye or ear protection. Its low breathing resistance minimizes user fatigue during extended periods of use.

  1. Remove Used Filters: Gently twist and pull the filter covers to detach them from the mask body. Remove the old filter cartridges.
  2. Insert New Filters: Align the new filter cartridges with the openings on the mask body and push them firmly into place until they click. Ensure a secure fit.
