Setup and Installation
The STA-TITE Seat Fastening System is designed for easy installation and a secure fit that prevents loosening.
- Remove Old Seat: Lift the hinge covers on your old toilet seat. Use a screwdriver or wrench to loosen and remove the bolts securing the old seat to the toilet bowl. Remove the old seat and clean the area thoroughly.
- Position New Seat: Place the new Bemis toilet seat onto the toilet bowl, aligning the hinge posts with the bolt holes on the toilet.
- Install STA-TITE Fasteners: Insert the STA-TITE bolts through the hinge posts and into the bolt holes on the toilet. From underneath the toilet bowl, thread the nuts onto the bolts.
- Tighten Securely: Hand-tighten the nuts until snug. The STA-TITE system features a patented non-slip washer and a bolt that expands to create a secure fit, preventing the seat from shifting. Do not overtighten.
- Close Hinge Covers: Snap the hinge covers closed over the installed fasteners.
Operating Instructions
Slow-Close Feature:
The slow-close mechanism allows the toilet seat and lid to close gently and quietly with a light tap, preventing slamming and pinched fingers. Simply push the seat or lid downwards, and it will lower itself slowly.
Built-in Potty Seat:
- For Child Use: Lift the main toilet seat. The smaller potty training seat is magnetically secured within the lid. Gently pull the potty seat down from the lid until it rests on the main toilet bowl rim.
- For Adult Use: After the child has finished, lift the potty seat back into the lid. It will magnetically secure itself in place. Then, lower the main toilet seat.
