Important Safety Instructions
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this electric pole chain saw. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
- Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and sturdy footwear. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
- Pole Saw Specific Safety:
- Ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated before each use.
- Keep hands and feet away from the cutting chain.
- Do not operate the pole saw with one hand.
- Be aware of kickback and how to avoid it.
- Always stand on solid ground and maintain a clear work area.

Assembly and Setup
1. Attaching the Bar and Chain:
- Carefully remove the chain cover.
- Place the chain around the guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges are facing the correct direction (refer to markings on the chain and bar).
- Align the chain and bar with the sprocket and mounting studs on the saw head.
- Replace the chain cover and tighten the retaining nut securely.
- Adjust chain tension: The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely around the bar by hand.
2. Adding Chain Oil:
Locate the oil reservoir cap on the saw head. Fill the reservoir with high-quality bar and chain oil (not included). The auto-oiler system will lubricate the chain during operation.
3. Extending the Telescoping Pole:
Loosen the locking collar on the pole. Extend the pole to the desired length, ensuring it clicks into place or is securely tightened at the chosen position. Do not over-extend beyond marked limits.
4. Adjusting the Head Angle:
The saw head can be adjusted to 0°, 15°, or 30° angles. Press the angle adjustment button/lever and pivot the head to the desired position until it locks securely.
Operating Instructions
Pre-Operation Checklist:
- Ensure the oil reservoir is full.
- Verify chain tension is correct.
- Inspect the chain and bar for any damage or dullness.
- Clear the work area of debris, people, and pets.
- Wear all recommended personal protective equipment.
Starting and Stopping:
- Connect the pole saw to a suitable power outlet using a heavy-duty extension cord.
- To start, depress the safety switch (usually a button or lever) and then squeeze the trigger switch.
- To stop, release the trigger switch. The chain will stop immediately.
Cutting Techniques:
- Small Branches: For branches less than 2 inches, a single cut from the top may suffice.
- Larger Limbs (3-cut method):
- Make a shallow undercut on the underside of the limb, about 6-12 inches from the trunk.
- Make a top cut slightly further out from the undercut, allowing the limb to break cleanly.
- Make a final cut close to the trunk to remove the remaining stub.
- Always allow the saw to do the work. Do not force it through the wood.
- Be aware of falling branches and plan your escape path.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pole saw.
- Chain Sharpening/Replacement: A sharp chain is crucial for safe and efficient cutting. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when it becomes dull or damaged.
- Guide Bar Maintenance: Periodically clean the guide bar groove and oil holes. Flip the guide bar over regularly to ensure even wear.
- Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the power and clean the saw head, bar, and chain of sawdust and debris. Use a damp cloth for the main unit.
- Oil Reservoir: Always check the oil level before each use and refill as necessary.
- Storage: Store the pole saw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Ensure the blade cover is in place.
