1. Introduction

2. Setup

2.1 Connecting the Keyboard

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 General Keyboard Use

The Cherry KC 1000 features a standard 109-key layout, including a numeric keypad and four hotkeys for common functions: "Calculator," "E-mail," "Browser," and "Sleep Mode."

3.2 Smart Card Reader Usage

The integrated Class 2 smart card reader is designed for secure transactions and authentication. To use the smart card reader:

1. Insert Smart Card: Gently insert your ISO 7816 compliant smart card into the recessed slot on the keyboard. The card should slide in smoothly with the chip facing upwards.
2. Secure PIN Entry: Utilize the numeric keypad for secure PIN entry when prompted by your application. This feature enhances security by isolating PIN input.
3. Remove Smart Card: After use, carefully remove the smart card from the slot.

6. Troubleshooting
