Setup

1. Battery Installation

Before using your remote control, you must install two AA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.

Method A: Code Entry (Recommended)

  2. Press and hold the MUTE button and the SELECT button simultaneously until the green light at the top of the remote flashes twice.
  3. Enter the 5-digit programming code for your device brand. (Refer to the DIRECTV website or your device's manual for a list of codes.)
  4. Point the remote at the device and press the POWER button once. If the device turns off, the remote is programmed.
  5. If the device does not turn off, repeat steps 2-4 with the next code for your brand.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to program.
  2. Press and hold the MUTE button and the SELECT button simultaneously until the green light at the top of the remote flashes twice.
  3. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (slowly) while pointing the remote at the device. Stop when the device turns off.
  4. Press the SELECT button to save the setting. The green light will flash twice.
