2. Initial Setup
2.1 Unpacking the Console
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all items listed below are present:

- DualShock 4 Wireless Controller
- HDMI Cable
- USB Charging Cable for Controller
- AC Power Cord
- Mono Wired Headset
- Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition Game Disc
2.2 Connecting the Console
- Place the Console: Position the PS4 console on a flat, stable surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces or on soft materials that may block air vents.
- Connect HDMI Cable: Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI OUT port on the back of the PS4 console and the other end into an HDMI input on your television or display.
- Connect Power Cord: Plug the AC power cord into the AC IN connector on the back of the PS4 console, then plug the other end into a wall outlet.
- Connect Controller: Use the supplied USB cable to connect the DualShock 4 wireless controller to a USB port on the front of the PS4 console. This will pair the controller and charge its battery.
- Connect to Internet (Optional): For online features and updates, connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the console, or configure Wi-Fi settings after initial power-on.
2.3 Initial Power-On
Press the power button on the front of the console or the PlayStation button on the paired controller to turn on the system. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, including language selection, time zone, and network settings.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Press the power button on the console or the PS button on the controller.
- To Power Off: Hold the PS button on the controller to bring up the Quick Menu, then select "Power" > "Turn Off PS4". Alternatively, press and hold the power button on the console for at least 7 seconds until the system beeps twice.
- Rest Mode: From the Quick Menu, select "Power" > "Enter Rest Mode". In Rest Mode, the console can charge controllers, download updates, and keep games suspended.
3.2 Inserting and Ejecting Discs
- To Insert: Gently slide a game disc into the disc slot with the label side facing up. The system will automatically pull the disc in.
- To Eject: Press the eject button located on the front of the console, or select the game icon on the home screen, press the OPTIONS button, and choose "Remove Disc".
3.3 Using the DualShock 4 Controller
The DualShock 4 controller features precise controls, a touch pad, motion sensors, and a built-in speaker. Ensure it is charged via the USB cable connected to the console or a compatible USB charger.
3.4 Network Connection
To access online features, PlayStation Store, and system updates, connect your PS4 to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable. Navigate to Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection to configure your preferences.
4. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the console's exterior. Avoid liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. Ensure vents are free from dust and obstructions.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the console in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

5. Troubleshooting
