2. Safety Information
- Always disconnect the vehicle's battery before performing any electrical work to prevent electrical shock or damage to the vehicle's systems.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves.
- Exercise caution when handling small components and using soldering equipment.
- If you are not confident in your ability to perform the installation, seek assistance from a qualified automotive technician.
3. Installation Instructions
These bulbs are designed for specific applications and require soldering for installation. Professional installation is recommended.
3.1 Compatible Vehicles
- GM Automatic Heater Controls: 2003-2006 GM full-size trucks and SUVs with automatic heater controls ONLY. These bulbs are NOT compatible with manual controls.
- Buick Models: 1997-2004 Buick Park Avenue, LeSabre, Regal Century with automatic heater controls ONLY.
- Corvette Models: 1997-2004 Corvette with automatic heater controls ONLY.
3.2 Required Tools (Not Included)
- Soldering iron
- Solder
- Desoldering wick or pump
- Small screwdriver set (for cluster disassembly)
- Multimeter (optional, for testing voltage)
3.3 Installation Steps
- Access the Instrument Cluster: Carefully disassemble the vehicle's dashboard and remove the speedometer instrument cluster. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions on cluster removal.
- Disassemble the Cluster: Completely disassemble the instrument cluster to gain access to the circuit board where the backlight bulbs are located.
- Identify Old Bulbs: Locate the existing backlight bulbs on the circuit board. These bulbs are typically soldered directly to the board. Any blue plastic sockets associated with the old bulbs can be discarded as these replacement bulbs are soldered directly.
- Remove Old Bulbs: Using a soldering iron and desoldering tool, carefully desolder and remove the old bulbs from the circuit board. Ensure all solder residue is removed from the pads.
- Install New Bulbs: Insert the wire leads of the new cciyu mini bulbs into the corresponding holes on the circuit board. Ensure the bulb is seated correctly.
- Solder New Bulbs: Carefully solder the leads of the new bulbs to the circuit board pads. Trim any excess lead length.
- Test Functionality: Before fully reassembling the cluster and dashboard, temporarily connect the cluster to the vehicle's electrical system and test the backlight illumination.
- Reassemble: Once functionality is confirmed, carefully reassemble the instrument cluster and reinstall it into the vehicle's dashboard. Reconnect the vehicle's battery.

4. Operating Instructions
Once properly installed, the cciyu mini bulbs will illuminate when the vehicle's ignition is turned on and the instrument cluster receives power, providing backlight for the speedometer and other gauges. No specific user interaction is required for bulb operation beyond the vehicle's standard electrical system controls.

5. Maintenance
These mini bulbs are sealed units and contain no user-serviceable parts. No routine maintenance is required. If a bulb ceases to function, it should be replaced following the installation steps outlined in Section 3.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Bulb Not Lighting Up
- Check Connections: Ensure the bulb's leads are properly soldered to the circuit board and that there are no cold solder joints or short circuits.
- Verify Voltage: Use a multimeter to confirm that the correct operating voltage (12-14V) is reaching the bulb's connection points on the circuit board when the vehicle's ignition is on.
- Inspect Bulb: Visually inspect the bulb's filament. If it appears broken or burnt out, the bulb needs replacement.
- Check Vehicle Fuses: Ensure that the relevant fuse for the instrument cluster lighting is intact and not blown.
