Setup and Installation

1. Placement: Position the motion sensor unit in an area where motion detection is desired. The 6-foot cord allows for flexible placement away from the wall outlet. The sensor detects motion up to 25 feet away with a 100-degree coverage zone.
2. Power Connection: Plug the power block of the motion sensor control into a standard 120V wall socket. Ensure the outlet is easily accessible.
3. Connect Device: Plug the light, lamp, radio, or other desired plug-in device into the outlet on the power block.
4. Set Timer: On the back of the power block, select the desired 'off' time using a small screwdriver or similar tool. Options include 1, 2, 5, 10, or 20 minutes. This determines how long the connected device remains on after motion stops.

Operating Instructions

Once installed and the timer is set, the Westek MLC12BC operates automatically:

• The motion sensor will detect movement within its 25-foot range and 100-degree coverage zone.
• Upon detection of motion, the connected light or appliance will turn on.
• The device will remain on for the duration set on the timer (1, 2, 5, 10, or 20 minutes) after the last detected motion.
• If motion is continuously detected, the device will remain on until motion ceases for the set duration.

Note: This motion sensor does not have a light sensor, meaning it will activate the connected device regardless of ambient light conditions (day or night).

Troubleshooting

• Device not turning on: Ensure the power block is securely plugged into a live outlet. Verify the connected device is functioning correctly by plugging it directly into a wall outlet. Check if the motion sensor is obstructed or positioned correctly to detect motion.
• Device staying on too long/short: Adjust the timer setting on the back of the power block to your desired duration (1, 2, 5, 10, or 20 minutes).
• Device activating without motion: Ensure the motion sensor is not exposed to rapid temperature changes, direct sunlight, or air currents from heating/cooling vents, which can cause false triggers.
• Motion not detected: Reposition the motion sensor to ensure a clear line of sight to the area where motion is expected. Increase the sensitivity if possible (though this model has fixed sensitivity).
