3. Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure all necessary tools and safety equipment are available. This luminaire is designed for pole-top or wall mounting.

3.1 Mounting Instructions

1. Select Location: Choose a suitable mounting location that can support the weight of the luminaire and provides the desired light coverage. Ensure the location allows for proper electrical wiring.
2. Prepare Mounting Surface: For pole mounting, ensure the pole is sturdy and has an appropriate diameter for the luminaire's bracket. For wall mounting, mark drilling points for the bracket.
3. Attach Bracket: Securely attach the luminaire's mounting bracket to the pole or wall using appropriate hardware (not included). Ensure the bracket is level and firmly fixed.
4. Mount Luminaire: Carefully lift the luminaire and attach it to the pre-installed mounting bracket. Secure it with the provided screws or bolts, ensuring a tight and stable connection.

3.2 Electrical Connection

WARNING: Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before making any electrical connections.

1. Access Wiring Compartment: Open the wiring compartment on the luminaire, typically by unscrewing a cover plate.
2. Connect Wires: Connect the supply wires to the luminaire's wires according to standard electrical codes:
   • Black (Live/Hot) to Black (Luminaire)
   • White (Neutral) to White (Luminaire)
   • Green or Bare Copper (Ground) to Green (Luminaire)
   Use appropriate wire connectors (not included) and ensure all connections are secure.
3. Seal Wiring Compartment: Carefully tuck all wires into the compartment and securely close the cover plate to ensure a weather-tight seal.
4. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power at the circuit breaker.

4. Operating Instructions

The Volteck LSLE-50 LED Suburban Luminaire is designed for automatic operation.

• Automatic Dusk-to-Dawn Operation: This luminaire is equipped with an integrated photocell sensor. Once power is supplied, the luminaire will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn.
• Manual Override: There is no manual override switch on the luminaire itself. To temporarily turn off the light, power must be disconnected at the circuit breaker.
• Initial Test: After installation, cover the photocell sensor to simulate darkness. The light should turn on. Uncover the sensor, and the light should turn off after a short delay.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your luminaire.

• Cleaning: Periodically clean the diffuser and the photocell sensor with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure power is disconnected before cleaning.
• Inspection: Annually inspect the luminaire for any signs of damage, loose connections, or wear. Check the mounting bracket for stability.
• LED Replacement: The LED light source is integrated and not user-replaceable. If the LEDs fail, the entire luminaire typically requires replacement.
