4.4 Inserting the Depth Control Rod:
- Insert the depth control rod into the hole on the auxiliary handle.
- Adjust the rod to the desired drilling depth and secure it by tightening the auxiliary handle.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Selecting the Operating Mode:
The Truper ROEL-20N offers four operating modes. Rotate the function selector switch to choose the desired mode:
- Drill Mode (Rotation Only): For drilling in wood, metal, and plastics. Use with the chuck adapter and standard drill bits.
- Rotary Hammer Mode (Rotation with Hammering): For drilling in concrete, masonry, and stone. Use with SDS Plus drill bits.
- Chiseling Mode (Hammering Only): For light chiseling, chipping, and demolition work. Use with SDS Plus chisels.
- Chisel Angle Adjustment Mode: Allows you to rotate the chisel to the desired working angle without hammering. Once the angle is set, switch back to Chiseling Mode.
5.2 Variable Speed Control:
The trigger features variable speed control. Press the trigger lightly for lower speeds and harder for higher speeds. This allows for precise control, especially when starting a hole or working with different materials.
5.3 Reversible Function:
Use the reversible lever to change the direction of rotation. This is useful for removing jammed drill bits or driving/removing screws (when using the drill mode with appropriate bits).
5.4 General Operation Tips:
- Always ensure the workpiece is securely clamped before drilling or chiseling.
- Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool.
- Allow the tool to cool down during extended use to prevent overheating.
- Regularly check the condition of your bits and chisels. Replace worn or damaged accessories.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Truper ROEL-20N Rotary Hammer Drill.
6.1 Cleaning:
- Always unplug the tool before cleaning.
- Clean the ventilation openings regularly to prevent dust buildup, which can cause overheating. Use compressed air if available.
- Wipe the tool housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Clean the SDS Plus chuck regularly to ensure smooth bit insertion and removal.
6.2 Lubrication:
Apply a small amount of SDS grease to the shank of SDS Plus bits before insertion to reduce wear and improve performance.
6.3 Carbon Brushes:
The carbon brushes may need replacement after extended use. This should be performed by a qualified service technician.
6.4 Storage:
Store the tool in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children. Use the provided tool bag for organized storage.
