5. Setup & Installation
Before you begin, ensure you have identified your wall type and have all necessary tools and hardware. Two people are recommended for safe installation.
5.1. Determine Mounting Location and Wall Type
- Choose a location on your wall where you want to mount the TV. Consider viewing angles and potential glare.
- Use a stud finder to locate the edges and center of two adjacent wood studs. Mark the center of the studs with a pencil. The wall plate must be mounted to at least two studs.
- If mounting to a solid concrete or brick wall, ensure the wall is thick enough and use appropriate concrete anchors (may not be included).
5.2. Install Wall Plate to Wall
- Hold the wall plate against the wall at your desired height, aligning the mounting holes with the marked stud centers. Use the integrated bubble level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal.
- Mark the drill points through the holes on the wall plate.
- For wood studs: Drill pilot holes using a 7/32" (5.5mm) drill bit to a depth of approximately 2.2" (55mm).
- For concrete/brick walls: Drill pilot holes using a 3/8" (10mm) drill bit to a depth of approximately 2.4" (60mm). Insert concrete anchors (if applicable) flush with the wall surface.
- Attach the wall plate to the wall using the lag bolts and washers provided. Tighten securely with a socket wrench, but do not overtighten.

5.3. Attach TV Brackets to Television
- Carefully place your TV face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent screen damage.
- Identify the VESA mounting holes on the back of your TV.
- Select the correct diameter and length of screws (M4, M5, M6, or M8) that fit your TV's VESA holes. Use washers and spacers as needed to ensure the screws do not bottom out or protrude too far.
- Attach the TV brackets to the back of your TV. Ensure the brackets are centered and securely fastened. If your TV has a larger VESA pattern, use the included extension arms to match the pattern.

5.4. Hang Television on Wall Mount
- With assistance, carefully lift the TV with the attached brackets and hook the brackets onto the wall plate assembly.
- Ensure the TV is securely seated on the mount.
- Tighten the safety screws located on the bottom of the TV brackets to prevent accidental dislodgement.
6. Operating Adjustments
The Mount-It! MI-345 offers full motion capabilities for optimal viewing.
- Extension/Compression: The articulating arm allows the TV to extend up to 23.7 inches (60.2 cm) from the wall and compress to a low profile of 2.2 inches (5.6 cm). Gently pull or push the TV to adjust its distance from the wall.
- Swivel: The mount can swivel 90 degrees to the left or right, depending on TV size and wall clearance. Carefully rotate the TV to achieve your desired viewing angle.
- Tilt: The TV can be tilted up to 2 degrees up or 12 degrees down. Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs on the TV brackets, adjust the angle, and then re-tighten the knobs to secure the position.
- Leveling: If minor leveling adjustments are needed after installation, some mounts allow for slight rotation. Consult the specific mechanism on your mount for this adjustment.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your TV wall mount.
- Periodic Inspection: Every few months, check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight and secure. Loose connections can lead to instability.
- Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Lubrication: If the articulating arm or swivel points become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the moving joints. Do not use oil-based lubricants.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during or after installation, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| TV is not level. | Wall plate not level during installation; minor rotational misalignment. | Check the wall plate with a bubble level. If slightly off, some mounts allow for minor post-installation leveling adjustments. Re-adjust if necessary. |
| Mount feels unstable or wobbly. | Loose wall bolts; incorrect wall type; TV exceeds weight limit. | Ensure all wall bolts are securely tightened. Verify the mount is installed into solid studs or concrete. Confirm TV weight is within the 100 lbs limit. |
| Difficulty moving the articulating arm. | Joints are stiff; cables are snagged. | Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving joints. Check for any cables obstructing movement. |
| TV screws do not fit VESA holes. | Incorrect screw size selected; VESA pattern not compatible. | Refer to your TV manual for correct VESA screw sizes. Use the provided hardware kit to find the correct screws, washers, and spacers. Confirm your TV's VESA pattern is supported by the mount. |
