4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Safety Precautions

The control module acts as the receiver for the wireless thermostat and connects directly to your HVAC system wiring.

  1. Select a suitable location near your HVAC system, ensuring it is accessible for wiring.
  2. Mount the control module securely to a wall or junction box using the provided hardware.
  3. Connect the HVAC system wires to the appropriate terminals on the control module. Refer to the wiring diagram specific to your HVAC system type (conventional or heat pump). The module supports systems up to 3H/2C.
  4. For optional 24-volt operation of the thermostat, ensure the R and C terminals are properly wired.

4.3 Thermostat Placement and Power

The wireless thermostat can be placed in any desired location within range of the control module.

  1. Insert two AA alkaline batteries into the thermostat's battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Choose a location for the thermostat that accurately reflects the desired room temperature and is free from drafts, direct sunlight, or heat sources.
  3. The thermostat can be wall-mounted or placed on a flat surface.

4.4 Supply Air Sensor Installation

The supply air sensor provides additional data for system optimization.

  1. Install the supply air sensor in the supply ductwork of your HVAC system.
  2. Connect the sensor wires to the designated terminals on the control module.

4.5 Wireless Pairing

After powering both the thermostat and control module, they should automatically attempt to pair. Follow the on-screen prompts on the thermostat for initial setup and pairing confirmation. The "COMM" indicator on the control module will illuminate when a successful connection is established.

5.1 Display Overview

The large backlit display shows current room temperature, set temperature, system mode, fan status, time, and day of the week.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to set desired temperatures for different time periods (e.g., Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep) for each day or group of days.
  3. Use the UP and DOWN arrows to adjust values and NEXT or HOLD to navigate.
  4. Press RETURN to exit programming mode.

Press the HOLD button to temporarily override the programmed schedule and maintain the current set temperature indefinitely. Press RETURN to cancel the hold and resume the schedule.

5.7 Keypad Lockout

The thermostat features multi-level keypad lockout to prevent unauthorized changes. Refer to the quick reference instruction card or the full user manual for specific steps to activate and deactivate this feature.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the two AA alkaline batteries in the thermostat. Ensure the system power is off before replacing batteries if the thermostat is wall-mounted and difficult to remove.

Clean the thermostat and control module surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
