1. Introduction

The Bose Solo 5 TV soundbar is designed to significantly enhance the audio quality of your television programs. It reproduces sound from dialogue to intricate details, featuring a dedicated dialogue mode for improved speech clarity. 2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your Bose Solo 5 TV soundbar, verify that all the following components are present:

3. Setup

3.1 Placement

Place the soundbar in front of your television or mount it on a wall. Ensure no objects obstruct the front of the soundbar for optimal sound projection.

3.2 Connections

Connect the soundbar to your TV using one of the following audio cables. Prioritize connections in the order listed below for best audio quality:

Digital Optical Audio Cable: Connect one end to the OPTICAL OUT port on your TV and the other end to the OPTICAL IN port on the soundbar.
Digital Coaxial Audio Cable (not included): Connect one end to the COAXIAL OUT port on your TV and the other end to the COAXIAL IN port on the soundbar.
3.5mm Analog Audio Cable (not included): Connect one end to the AUDIO OUT port on your TV and the other end to the AUX IN port on the soundbar.

After connecting the audio cable, connect the power supply to the soundbar's POWER port and then plug the power cable into a wall outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button on the universal remote control to turn the soundbar on or off. The soundbar will automatically enter standby mode after a period of inactivity.

4.2 Volume Control

Adjust the volume using the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons on the remote. The volume indicator on the soundbar will briefly illuminate to show the current level.

4.3 Source Selection

Press the TV button on the remote to select the television audio input. Press the Bluetooth button to switch to Bluetooth audio input.

5. Bluetooth Connectivity

The Bose Solo 5 soundbar features Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio streaming from compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, or computers.

5.1 Pairing a Bluetooth Device

Turn on the soundbar.
Press the Bluetooth button on the universal remote control. The Bluetooth indicator on the soundbar will blink blue.
On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and select 'Bose Solo 5' from the list of available devices.
Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator on the soundbar will glow solid white.

The Bluetooth connection maintains stable operation up to approximately 9 meters (30 feet).

6. Universal Remote Control

6.1 Dialogue Mode

No Sound:
- Ensure all audio cables are securely connected between the TV and the soundbar.

- Check if the soundbar is powered on and not muted.
- Confirm your TV's audio output settings are configured to send sound to an external speaker.
Bluetooth Connection Issues:
- Ensure your Bluetooth device is within the 9-meter (30-foot) range of the soundbar.
- Try unpairing and then re-pairing the device with the soundbar.
- Check for potential interference from other wireless devices.
Remote Control Not Responding:
- Replace the batteries in the universal remote control.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the front of the soundbar.
