Introduction
The TC Electronic BODYREZ is an ultra-compact acoustic guitar pickup enhancement pedal designed to restore the natural acoustic resonance of your guitar when using under-saddle pickups. It provides studio-quality acoustic tone and features built-in feedback suppression, ensuring a clear and rich sound for live performances or recording.

Setup
Follow these steps to set up your BODYREZ pedal:
- Power Connection: The BODYREZ pedal requires a 9V battery or an external 9V DC power supply (not included). Connect the power supply to the DC input jack on the pedal. If using a battery, ensure it is correctly installed in the battery compartment.
- Input Connection: Connect your acoustic guitar's output to the INPUT jack on the right side of the pedal using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
- Output Connection: Connect the OUTPUT jack on the left side of the pedal to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface using another standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
- USB Connection (for firmware updates): A mini-USB port is provided for firmware updates. Connect a mini-USB cable from the pedal to your computer for this purpose. This port is not for audio signal transmission.

Operating Instructions
The BODYREZ pedal features a simple, intuitive control scheme:
- Footswitch: Press the footswitch to engage or bypass the effect. When the effect is active, the LED indicator will illuminate. The pedal features true bypass, ensuring your signal remains unaffected when the pedal is disengaged.
- BODY Knob: This single knob controls the intensity of the acoustic enhancement. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the effect, adding more warmth, depth, and natural resonance to your amplified acoustic sound. Turn it counter-clockwise to reduce the effect. Experiment with different settings to find the optimal tone for your guitar and playing style.
- Phase Control (Footswitch Mode): The footswitch also functions as a phase control to help eliminate low-frequency feedback. To activate this mode, press and hold the footswitch for a few seconds. The LED indicator will change color (e.g., from green to red or vice-versa, depending on the pedal's state) to indicate the phase has been inverted. If you experience feedback, try toggling the phase control to see if it resolves the issue.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your BODYREZ pedal:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal's exterior. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
- Battery Replacement: If using a 9V battery, replace it when the LED indicator dims or the pedal's performance degrades. To replace, open the battery compartment on the underside of the pedal, remove the old battery, and insert a new 9V battery, observing correct polarity.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the power supply and, if applicable, remove the battery to prevent leakage. Store the pedal in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No sound when pedal is engaged. | No power, incorrect connections, faulty cables. | Check power supply/battery. Ensure all cables are securely connected to the correct input/output jacks. Test with different cables. |
| Weak or distorted sound. | Low battery, incorrect BODY knob setting. | Replace battery if applicable. Adjust the BODY knob to a suitable level. Ensure guitar and amplifier settings are appropriate. |
| Feedback issues. | Phase incompatibility, high volume levels. | Activate the phase control by holding the footswitch. Reduce overall volume or adjust stage monitoring. |
| LED indicator not lighting up. | No power, dead battery. | Check power supply connection. Replace the 9V battery. |
