Setup and Assembly

Assembly of the Amazon Basics Patio Heater is straightforward. Follow these steps:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and ensure all components listed in the manual are present and undamaged.
  2. Assemble Base: Attach the wheels to the base unit. If desired, fill the water box in the base with water or sand for additional stability.
  3. Install Propane Tank: Open the access door on the base unit. Place a standard 20-pound liquid propane (LP) gas tank (not included) inside the base. Secure the tank using the provided chain.
  4. Connect Gas Line: Connect the heater's gas line to the propane tank valve. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
  5. Assemble Support Pole: Attach the support pole sections together and then secure the pole to the base unit.
  6. Mount Burner Assembly: Carefully attach the burner assembly to the top of the support pole.
  7. Attach Reflector Hood: Secure the reflector hood to the top of the burner assembly.

Operating Instructions

To operate your Amazon Basics Patio Heater:

  1. Open Gas Supply: Ensure the propane tank is securely connected. Slowly open the valve on the propane tank to allow gas to flow to the heater.
  2. Ignite Heater: On the control panel, push in and turn the temperature knob to the 'High' position. While holding the knob in, press the red ignition button repeatedly until the burner ignites. You should hear the gas flow and see a flame.
  3. Adjust Heat: Once ignited, continue to hold the knob in for 10-15 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up. Release the knob. You can then adjust the heat output by turning the knob between 'Low' and 'High' settings. The heater provides up to 46,000 BTUs of heat, covering up to a 9-foot radius.
  4. Turn Off Heater: To turn off the heater, push in the temperature knob and turn it to the 'Off' position. Release the knob. Always close the valve on the propane tank after each use to ensure safety and conserve gas.
