The VTech CS6919-16 DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone with Caller ID and Handset Speakerphone is designed to provide essential features for a busy household. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your new cordless phone system.

What's in the Box

Verify that your package contains the following items:

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the cordless handset.
  2. Connect the NiMH battery pack plug into the jack inside the compartment.
  3. Place the battery pack with the label THIS SIDE UP facing up.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

2. Base Unit Connection

  1. Plug the small end of the AC adapter into the power jack on the back of the telephone base.
  2. Plug the large end of the AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the telephone base.
  4. Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.

3. Charging the Handset

Place the cordless handset in the telephone base. The CHARGE light on the handset will illuminate, indicating that the battery is charging. For optimal performance, charge the handset for at least 16 hours before initial use.

4. Wall Mounting (Optional)

The included wall-mount bracket allows for convenient placement of the telephone base on a wall.

Operating Instructions

Making and Receiving Calls

Full Duplex Speakerphone

The handset features a full-duplex speakerphone, allowing both parties to speak and be heard simultaneously for more natural conversations. Activate by pressing the SPEAKER button during a call.

Caller ID/Call Waiting

Phonebook Directory

Troubleshooting

Handset does not charge.Make sure the handset is correctly seated in the base unit. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth. Verify the AC adapter is connected.
Poor sound quality or static.Move the handset closer to the base unit. Avoid placing the phone near other electronic devices (e.g., microwaves, Wi-Fi routers) that may cause interference.
Caller ID not displaying.Ensure you have subscribed to Caller ID service from your telephone service provider.
