3. Setup and Assembly

The OXELO MID 5 Scooter comes partially assembled. Follow these steps to prepare it for use.

  1. Unfolding the Scooter:

    Locate the folding mechanism near the base of the handlebar stem. Release the locking lever and carefully unfold the scooter until the stem clicks into its upright position. Ensure the locking mechanism is fully engaged.

  2. Adjusting Handlebar Height:

    The handlebar height is adjustable. Open the quick-release clamp on the handlebar stem. Adjust the handlebar to a comfortable height, typically around hip level when standing on the deck. Close the quick-release clamp securely. Ensure the handlebar is aligned with the front wheel.

  3. Brake Check:

    Test the hand brake by squeezing the lever. The rear wheel should stop smoothly. Ensure the brake cable is not frayed and is properly routed.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Starting to Ride:

    Place one foot firmly on the deck. Use your other foot to push off the ground, gaining momentum. Once moving, place both feet on the deck, one behind the other, or side-by-side if preferred.

  2. Steering:

    Steer by gently leaning in the desired direction and turning the handlebars. Avoid sharp, sudden turns at high speeds.

  3. Braking:

    To slow down or stop, gently squeeze the hand brake lever on the handlebar. For emergency stops, apply the brake firmly. Practice braking at low speeds first.

  4. Folding for Storage/Transport:

    To fold the scooter, ensure it is stationary. Release the handlebar height clamp and lower the handlebar fully. Then, engage the folding mechanism lever and fold the handlebar stem down towards the deck until it locks into the folded position.
