3. Setup
Before first use, ensure your snow blower is properly assembled and the battery is charged.
3.1 Battery Installation and Charging
The ION18SB-PRO is powered by a 40-volt lithium-ion battery. Always ensure the battery is fully charged before operation.
- To charge the battery, insert it into the compatible charger. The charger's indicator lights will show the charging status.
- Once fully charged, slide the battery into the battery compartment on the snow blower until it clicks securely into place.

3.2 Handle Assembly
The snow blower features an adjustable handle for user comfort. Refer to the included assembly guide for detailed steps on securing the handle and control panel.

4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective snow removal.
4.1 Starting the Snow Blower
- Ensure the battery is fully inserted and secured.
- Press the safety button and then squeeze the lever on the handle to start the snow blower.

4.2 Clearing Snow and Chute Control
The ION18SB-PRO is capable of clearing a path 18 inches wide and 8 inches deep, moving up to 495 lbs of snow per minute. The 180° auto-rotate chute allows you to direct snow up to 20 feet away.
- Push the snow blower at a consistent pace, allowing the auger to efficiently clear the snow.
- Use the joystick control on the handle to adjust the direction of the snow discharge chute as needed.

4.3 Nighttime Operation
For snow removal in low-light conditions or at night, activate the integrated LED headlight.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Care
- Always store the battery in a dry place at room temperature.
- Charge the battery fully before long-term storage and periodically during storage to maintain its health.
5.2 Auger and Scraper Bar Inspection
Regularly inspect the steel auger and heavy-duty rubber blades for any signs of wear or damage. The scraper bar at the base is designed to clear snow close to the ground without damaging surfaces.

5.3 Storage

6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues and their potential solutions.
6.1 Snow Blower Not Starting
- Ensure the 40V iONMAX battery is fully charged and correctly inserted into the battery compartment.
- Verify that the safety button is pressed before squeezing the operating lever.
6.2 Reduced Snow Throwing Distance
- Wet, heavy snow can reduce the throwing distance. Try clearing smaller sections at a slower, more consistent pace.
- Check the discharge chute for any blockages or ice buildup. Clear any obstructions carefully with a non-metallic tool.
6.3 Chute Not Rotating
- If wet snow freezes in the chute base, it can prevent rotation. Thaw the area carefully before attempting to rotate the chute.
- Ensure the joystick control for chute rotation is not obstructed and is functioning properly.
