Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions to reduce the risk of injury or damage:
- Read and understand all instructions before operating the pump.
- Ensure adequate ventilation when operating the pump, as exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide.
- Do not operate the pump near flammable materials or in explosive atmospheres.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and eye protection.
- Keep children and bystanders away from the operating area.
- Never refuel the pump while the engine is running or hot.
- Ensure all connections are secure before starting the pump.
Setup and Assembly
Before first use, some assembly and preparation are required.
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage during transit. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact Fuxtec customer service immediately.
2. Attaching Hoses and Accessories
The pump comes with necessary accessories for hose connection. Ensure a tight seal to prevent air leaks, which can affect pump performance.

Figure 2: Included accessories for the water pump, showing hose connectors, clamps, and the intake filter.
- Attach the suction hose to the inlet port (marked with an arrow pointing inwards) using the provided connector and clamp. Ensure the intake filter is securely attached to the end of the suction hose.
- Attach the discharge hose to the outlet port (marked with an arrow pointing outwards) using the provided connector and clamp.
- Tighten all clamps securely to prevent leaks.
3. Fuel and Oil Filling
This pump uses a 2-stroke engine. It requires a pre-mixed gasoline and 2-stroke oil mixture. Refer to the engine manufacturer's recommendations for the correct mixing ratio, typically 1:25 or 1:50.
- Ensure the engine is off and cool before adding fuel.
- Open the fuel tank cap and carefully pour the pre-mixed fuel into the tank. Do not overfill.
- Securely close the fuel tank cap.

Operating Instructions
1. Priming the Pump
Before starting, the pump housing must be filled with water to create a vacuum for suction.
- Locate the priming cap on top of the pump housing.
- Unscrew the priming cap and fill the pump housing completely with clean water.
- Replace and securely tighten the priming cap.

Figure 4: View of the pump side, indicating the location of the priming cap on the pump housing.
2. Starting the Engine
Follow these steps to start the gasoline engine:
- Place the pump on a stable, level surface.
- Ensure the suction hose is submerged in the water source and the discharge hose is directed to the desired location.
- Set the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- Move the choke lever to the "CLOSED" (start) position for a cold engine. For a warm engine, the choke may not be necessary.
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts. Do not pull the rope to its full extension.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "OPEN" (run) position.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments before operating at full throttle.
3. Adjusting Flow Rate
The flow rate can be adjusted by controlling the engine speed using the throttle lever. Increase engine speed for higher flow and decrease for lower flow.
4. Stopping the Engine
To stop the pump, simply move the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your water pump.
1. After Each Use
- Drain any remaining water from the pump housing and hoses to prevent freezing or corrosion.
- Clean the exterior of the pump with a damp cloth.
- Inspect hoses and connections for wear or damage.
2. Regular Checks (Monthly/Seasonally)
- Air Filter: Inspect and clean the air filter. Replace if heavily soiled or damaged.
- Spark Plug: Check the spark plug for fouling or wear. Clean or replace as needed.
- Fuel Filter: Inspect the fuel filter for blockages. Clean or replace if necessary.
- General Fasteners: Check all nuts, bolts, and screws for tightness.
3. Storage
For long-term storage, prepare the pump as follows:
- Drain all fuel from the tank and carburetor. Run the engine until it stops from lack of fuel.
- Remove the spark plug and pour a small amount of 2-stroke oil into the cylinder. Pull the recoil starter a few times to distribute the oil, then reinstall the spark plug.
- Store the pump in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your water pump.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
