Setup

1. Power Connection

  1. Unpack the Coby CRABT-100-BLK and all accessories.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the unit.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a standard wall outlet. The LED display will illuminate.

2. Battery Backup (Optional)

For maintaining time settings during a power outage, you may install backup batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit, insert the required batteries (e.g., 2 x AAA, check compartment for specific type) observing polarity, and close the compartment.

Operating Instructions

1. Setting the Clock

  1. In standby mode, press and hold the TIME SET button (often combined with the 'M' or Mode button, refer to device markings). The hour digits will begin to flash.
  2. Press the HOUR button repeatedly to adjust the hour. Pay attention to the PM indicator if using 12-hour format.
  3. Press the TIME SET button again. The minute digits will flash.
  4. Press the MIN button repeatedly to adjust the minutes.
  5. Press the TIME SET button one more time to confirm and exit time setting mode.

2. Setting the Alarm

The unit supports two independent alarms (A1 and A2).

  1. Press and hold the ALARM 1 button (or the corresponding alarm icon button). The alarm hour digits will flash.
  2. Use the HOUR button to set the desired alarm hour.
  3. Press the ALARM 1 button again. The alarm minute digits will flash.
  4. Use the MIN button to set the desired alarm minutes.
  5. Press the ALARM 1 button once more to confirm. The alarm indicator (e.g., A1 icon) will appear on the display, indicating the alarm is active.
  6. Repeat the process for ALARM 2 if needed.

3. Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE button on top of the unit. The alarm will pause for a short period (typically 9 minutes) and then sound again. This can be repeated multiple times.

4. Disabling the Alarm

To turn off a sounding alarm, press any button other than SNOOZE. To completely deactivate an alarm for the next day, press the corresponding ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button until its indicator icon disappears from the display.

5. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Press the MODE button (often labeled 'M') to switch to Bluetooth mode. The Bluetooth indicator on the display will flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "CRABT-100-BLK" (or similar name) from the list of found devices.
  4. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator on the alarm clock will stop flashing and remain solid. You can now play audio wirelessly from your device through the alarm clock speaker.
  5. The effective range for Bluetooth connection is approximately 33 feet (10 meters).

6. FM Radio Operation

  1. Press the MODE button (M) to switch to FM Radio mode. The display will show the radio frequency.
  2. Press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button (often combined with the 'M' button or a dedicated play icon) to initiate an automatic scan for FM stations. The unit will scan and save available stations.
  3. Once scanning is complete, use the PREVIOUS/NEXT buttons (often combined with HOUR/MIN buttons) to navigate through the saved stations.
  4. Adjust the volume using the dedicated volume controls (if present) or by pressing and holding the PREVIOUS/NEXT buttons (if they double as volume controls).

7. Daylight Saving Time (DST)

To adjust for Daylight Saving Time, press the DST button. This will typically advance or set back the time by one hour. Press it again to revert the change.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Unit does not power on.Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the unit and a working wall outlet. Check if the outlet has power.
Alarm does not sound.Verify that the alarm is set and the alarm indicator (A1/A2) is visible on the display. Ensure the volume is not set to minimum.
Difficulty turning off the alarm completely.To deactivate an alarm for subsequent days, press the corresponding ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button until its icon disappears from the display. Simply pressing SNOOZE or another button only silences the current alarm cycle.
Bluetooth device cannot pair.Ensure the alarm clock is in Bluetooth pairing mode (flashing Bluetooth icon). Make sure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and within range (33 feet). Try restarting both devices.
Poor FM radio reception.Extend the FM antenna fully. Try repositioning the unit to improve signal reception.
Display is dim or blank.Check power connection. If using battery backup, ensure batteries are fresh and correctly installed.
