1. Setup and Assembly
Before first use, wash all removable parts in warm, soapy water or in the dishwasher. Ensure the motor base is unplugged from the power outlet.
1.1 Assembling the Work Bowl and Blade
- Place the motor base on a clean, dry, flat surface.
- Position the 11-cup work bowl onto the motor base, aligning the handle with the front of the base. Turn the work bowl clockwise until it locks into place.
- Carefully place the desired blade or disc onto the stem inside the work bowl. For chopping, use the S-shaped chopping/mixing blade. For slicing or shredding, use the appropriate disc. Caution: Blades and discs are extremely sharp. Handle with care.
- Place the work bowl cover onto the work bowl, aligning the feed tube with the work bowl handle. Turn the cover clockwise until it locks into place.
- Insert the large pusher into the feed tube. The small pusher can be inserted into the large pusher for smaller ingredients.

2. Operating Instructions
The Cuisinart Elemental Food Processor features a rubberized touchpad with High, Low, Off, and Pulse controls for versatile food preparation.
2.1 Using the Chopping/Mixing Blade
The stainless steel S-blade is ideal for chopping, mincing, mixing, and pureeing. Place ingredients directly into the work bowl. Secure the lid and pusher. Select the 'High' or 'Low' setting for continuous processing, or use 'Pulse' for controlled chopping.
2.2 Using Slicing and Shredding Discs
The food processor includes an adjustable slicing disc (0-7mm) and a reversible shredding disc (fine/medium). Attach the desired disc to the stem. Place ingredients into the wide-mouth feed tube. Use the large pusher for whole fruits and vegetables, or the small pusher for smaller items. Select 'High' or 'Low' for continuous operation.

3. Care and Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning
- Always unplug the food processor before cleaning.
- All removable parts (work bowl, cover, pushers, blades, and discs) are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).
- To clean the motor base, wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or other liquids.
- For stubborn food residue, use a small brush to clean the blades and crevices.
3.2 Storage
Store the food processor and its accessories in a dry, safe place. Ensure blades and discs are stored securely to prevent accidental injury.
4. Troubleshooting
- Unit does not turn on: Ensure the work bowl and cover are correctly assembled and locked into place. The safety interlock system prevents operation if not properly secured. Check if the unit is plugged into a working power outlet.
- Food not processing evenly: For chopping, use the 'Pulse' function for better control and to prevent over-processing. For slicing/shredding, ensure ingredients fit properly in the feed tube and are pushed down evenly.
- Motor seems strained: Do not overload the work bowl. Process ingredients in smaller batches if necessary. Ensure the blade/disc is free from obstructions.
- Leakage from work bowl: Verify that the work bowl cover is securely locked and the gasket is properly seated. The SealTight Advantage System is designed to prevent leaks.
