LANCHEZ 3/4 HP Portable Submersible Water Sump Pump Instruction Manual
Model: Lanchez
Introduction
The LANCHEZ 3/4 HP Portable Submersible Water Sump Pump is a versatile and efficient tool designed for rapid water removal. With a powerful 3/4 HP copper wire motor, it can discharge water up to 4450 GPH (74 GPM) and lift water up to 40 ft vertically. Its low baseplate design allows for water removal down to 0.2 inches, making it ideal for draining clean or slightly dirty water from various applications. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of your pump.
Important Safety Information
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the pump. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power source matches the pump's voltage (110 Volts AC). Do not use the pump with damaged cords or plugs. Always plug into a grounded outlet.
- Submersion: This pump is designed for submersible use (IPX8 waterproof). Before using, submerge the pump into the water at an inclined angle to remove excess air.
- Water Temperature: Do not operate the pump in water exceeding 95°F (35°C).
- Particle Size: The pump is suitable for clean or slightly dirty water. The diameter of particles in the water should not exceed 34mm.
- Dry Running: Avoid operating the pump without water, as this can cause damage.
- Overload Protection: The pump features built-in automatic thermal overload protection. If the pump overheats, it will automatically stop and restart once it has cooled down sufficiently.
- Handling: Do not move the pump by pulling the power cord. Use the convenient handle on top for easy carrying.

Operating Instructions
1. Initial Use
- Place the pump on a level and solid foundation in the area where water needs to be removed. Ensure the exhaust hole is not blocked by debris.
- Submerge the pump into the water at an inclined angle to allow any trapped air to escape. This helps the pump prime and operate efficiently.
- Once fully submerged and air-free, plug the 25 ft power cable into a grounded 110V AC outlet. The pump will begin operating immediately as it does not have an automatic start/stop feature.
- To stop the pump, simply unplug it from the power outlet.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the pump's intake screen to prevent blockages from debris. A detachable screen filter base allows for easy cleaning.
- Storage: When not in use, especially during colder months, ensure the pump is completely drained of water to prevent freezing and damage. Store it in a dry, protected area.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any cuts, fraying, or damage. Do not use the pump if the cord is compromised.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your LANCHEZ pump, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start | No power; Thermal overload activated; Impeller jammed | Check power connection; Allow pump to cool down; Clear any debris from impeller. |
| Pump runs but no water is discharged | Air lock; Clogged intake/discharge; Hose kinked or blocked | Re-submerge pump at an angle to release air; Clean intake screen and discharge; Straighten hose or clear blockage. |
| Reduced flow rate | Partial clog; Worn impeller; Excessive lift height | Clean intake/discharge; Inspect impeller for wear (contact support if needed); Ensure pump is within specified lift height limits. |
| Pump cycles on and off frequently | Thermal overload due to continuous heavy use or high water temperature | Reduce operating time; Check water temperature (must be below 95°F); Ensure proper ventilation around pump. |
