Model: MV-B100

1. Product Overview

The Movo MV-B100 Motorized Sensor Cleaning Brush is designed for the safe and effective removal of dust and loose particles from DSLR and mirrorless camera sensors, lenses, and other sensitive optical surfaces. This device utilizes a motorized brush that generates a static charge to attract and lift dust, complemented by integrated LED lights to illuminate the cleaning area.

Key Features:

  • Motorized Static Charge: An ultrasonic motor spins the brush fibers to create a static charge, enhancing dust attraction.
  • Safe for Sensors: Ultrasoft brush fibers are safe for all camera sensors (mirrored and mirrorless) and glass optics.
  • Integrated LED Lights: Four super-bright LEDs illuminate the sensor surface, making dust particles visible.
  • Self-Cleaning Function: The brush cleans itself after use by spinning off collected dust.
  • Battery Operated: Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included).

2. Setup and Battery Installation

Before using your Movo MV-B100, you will need to install two AAA batteries.

3. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for effective and safe cleaning of your camera sensor or lens:

  1. Prepare Your Camera: Ensure your camera's battery is fully charged. Access your camera's sensor cleaning mode (if available) or set it to Bulb mode with the shutter locked open to expose the sensor. Consult your camera's manual for specific instructions on accessing the sensor.
  2. Inspect the Sensor/Lens: Use the Movo MV-B100's integrated LED lights to inspect the surface for dust. Slide the power switch to the first position to activate the motor and charge the brush. Then, slide it to the second position to turn on the LEDs and stop the brush from spinning. The bright lights will highlight dust particles.
  3. Charge the Brush: Before cleaning, ensure the brush is charged. Slide the power switch to the first position (motor on) for 3-5 seconds to allow the brush fibers to static charge.
  4. Clean the Surface: With the brush charged (and motor off, LEDs on), gently sweep the brush across the sensor or lens surface. Avoid applying pressure. The static charge will attract and lift dust particles. For camera sensors, make light, overlapping passes.

  6. Self-Clean the Brush: After cleaning, slide the power switch back to the first position (motor on) to allow the brush to spin and shed collected dust. This prepares the brush for its next use.
  7. Re-inspect: Use the LED lights again to check if all dust has been removed. Repeat the cleaning process if necessary.
  8. Movo MV-B100 Sensor Cleaning Brush cleaning the area around a camera sensor

Image 3.2: The brush can also be used to clean dust from the surrounding areas of the camera mount.

  9. Power Off and Store: Once cleaning is complete, slide the power switch to the "off" position and replace the protective cap.

Important Note: The Movo MV-B100 is designed for dry dust removal. It is not intended to remove oil, smudges, or stubborn, stuck-on particles. For such contaminants, specialized wet cleaning solutions and swabs may be required. Always ensure the sensor is free of oil or wet residue before using the brush to prevent spreading contaminants.

4. Maintenance and Care

  • Brush Self-Cleaning: After each use, activate the motor (first switch position) for a few seconds to allow the brush to spin and shed any collected dust, keeping the fibers clean for the next use.
  • Deep Cleaning the Brush: If the brush fibers become visibly dirty or less effective, they can be gently washed with mild soap and water. Ensure the brush head is completely dry before reattaching it to the motorized unit and before subsequent use.
  • Storage: Always store the Movo MV-B100 with its protective cap on to prevent dust accumulation on the brush fibers. Store in a clean, dry environment.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace AAA batteries when the motor speed decreases or the LED lights dim.

5. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
