Setup

1. Unpacking

1. Remove all packaging materials from the machine and its components.
2. Place the machine on a stable, flat surface.
3. Ensure all accessories are present: water tank, drip tray, milk carafe, cleaning brush, and measuring scoop.

2. Initial Cleaning

1. Wash the water tank, drip tray, and milk carafe with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
2. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

3. First Use

1. Fill the water tank with fresh cold water up to the MAX level. Insert it back into the machine.
2. Plug the machine into a power outlet.
3. Place a container under the coffee spouts.
4. Turn on the machine using the power button. The machine will perform an automatic rinse cycle.
5. Once the rinse cycle is complete and the indicator lights stabilize, the machine is ready for use.

Operating Instructions

Control Panel Overview

Brewing Espresso

1. Ensure the water tank is filled and coffee beans are in the hopper.
2. Place a cup under the coffee spouts.
3. Rotate the 'Select Drink' knob to the Espresso icon.
4. Press the 'Brew' button. The machine will grind the beans and brew your espresso.

Brewing Lungo

1. Follow steps 1 and 2 for brewing Espresso.
2. Rotate the 'Select Drink' knob to the Lungo icon.
3. Press the 'Brew' button.

Brewing Drip Style Coffee

1. Follow steps 1 and 2 for brewing Espresso.
2. Rotate the 'Select Drink' knob to the Drip Style Coffee icon.
3. Press the 'Brew' button.

Preparing Cappuccinos and Lattes (LatteCrema System)

1. Fill the milk carafe with fresh cold milk. Attach it to the machine.
2. Place a suitable cup under the coffee and milk spouts.
3. Rotate the 'Select Drink' knob to the Cappuccino or Latte icon.
4. Press the 'Brew' button. The machine will automatically froth the milk and then dispense the coffee.
5. After dispensing, the machine may prompt for milk carafe cleaning. Follow the on-screen instructions or refer to the maintenance section.

Using the 2x Function

The unique 2x function allows you to brew two espresso shots simultaneously or larger servings of other coffee types.

1. Place two cups under the coffee spouts for two espressos, or a larger mug for a double-sized lungo/drip coffee.
2. Select your desired drink using the 'Select Drink' knob.
3. Press the '2x' button. The corresponding icon will illuminate.
4. Press the 'Brew' button to start brewing.

Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

• Empty and rinse the drip tray daily.
• Wipe down the coffee spouts and exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

Milk Carafe Cleaning

• After each milk-based drink, the machine will prompt for cleaning. Follow the instructions on the display.
• Regularly disassemble and thoroughly clean all components of the milk carafe with warm water and mild detergent.

Descaling

The machine will indicate when descaling is required (Descaling Icon illuminates). Regular descaling is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.

1. Use only De'Longhi descaling solution.
2. Follow the detailed instructions provided in the full user manual or on the descaling solution packaging.
3. The descaling process typically takes about 20 minutes.

Brew Unit Cleaning

The brew unit should be removed and rinsed under running water at least once a month.

1. Turn off and unplug the machine.
2. Open the brew unit access door (usually on the side).
3. Press the two red release buttons and pull the brew unit out.
4. Rinse thoroughly under tap water until no coffee residue is visible.
5. Allow to air dry completely before reinserting.
